Too bad Quebec doesn't feel the need to comply with the "2 official languages" rule, that the rest of Canada is forced to do.

We have the information and have all the permanent sites. We've been testing and adding consistently monitored mobile zones over the past few weeks.

On my GPS will be the RLC and Speed camera POI's as well as I have a very expensive undetectable radar detector.

I will have the "pleasure" of driving through Quebec in a week and again in three weeks. I will bet you dollars to donuts that NONE of the signage will be in both "official" languages. If I did not read the labels on my corn flake boxes I would be totally lost with French.

For example in Ontario and Manitoba there are usually TWO separate signs, one in English and the next in 200 feet in French. Sometimes both on one sign. All this at the taxpayers dollar.

It's not a bad thing to have signs in multiple languages, if enough people who speak those languages are likely to drive there.

Jackson Heights, Queens, New York City, is a multi-ethnic neighborhood where 167 languages are spoken although I believe this is an exaggeration and that only 45 languages are spoken. Road signs are in English.

However, the signs on businesses are in the language of the owner. This can create a problem for firefighters arriving in the middle of the night and not knowing the type of business. A proposed law to mandate signs in English was not passed.

There may be areas similar to Jackson Heights in Canada. How about in Vancouver, Montreal, or Quebec? English+French signs are getting less relevant all the time.
