Garmin talk

I was thinking this evening about the next Garmin that I would like to see. I already have a Garmin Street Pilot 2730, but I really like some of the features of the Garmin Nuvi 650/660 line. This is essentially what I would like:

-wide screen like Nuvi 650/660

-rechargeable internal lithium-ion battery like the Nuvi

-sensitive SiRF chip

On my Nuvi 360 it tells me where the next turn is right after you make a turn. It also tells me when I get close to the turn.

But what if I am driving on a 13 mile stretch and am on mile 1 and want to know which direction (right or left) I am going to turn in 12 miles? I cant figure our a visual or audible indicator.

I have the c330 & c340 Garmin units and I was wondering IF the battery could be charged using a cell phone charger. I have the Moto Razr cell phone with a mini USB charger and is rated at 5.0V and 550mA output.

Has anyone else noticed???

I recently bought a nuvi 660 and am trying to remove Fodor's Sample Data from the extras. Can this be done?

I recently downloaded the red light camera POI file which came in a .csv format. I could easily load these locations onto my nuvi with the Garmin POI Loader and add a proximity alert, but I can't open a .csv in MapSource to easily edit or add to it. I wanted to add a audio file that says "Red light camera ahead" or something like that when I approach these intersections.

I just checked the Red Light camera list and see they added alot of cameras in my area. Can some one tell me if on my C 530 if I update the red light camera file will it overwrite my old file or just take up even more internal memory on my unit. Any help would be great. DC

I bought a new c530 recently and tried the windshield mount once. In my car mounting on the windshield puts the unit beyond arms length. Also, it was hard to remove.
I bought the bean bag. I set it on top of the dash and it stays put. When leaving the car I place it on the floor close to the driver's door and it is out of sight.

I'm curious to find out where people have mounted their Zumos (motorcylce mount, that is).

Obviously the kit comes with the generic handlebar mount, and comes with the shift lever conector. Being next to the left hand seems convenient for accessing menus, but mounting towards the center of the handlebar seems like it could keep your eyes on the road more by not having to look as far...

Hey there.. I just had the Kenwood stereo installed in my truck that has the garmin built in. am i able to upload files from her to there does anyone know? not sure of the garmin model but i can find out

I must be missing something here. I downloaded and installed POI Loader from Garmin for the Model C340.
I downloaded a couple of POI files. When I run the POI Loader I see the 'csv' files in it but absolutely nothing happens. The Garmin is turned on, the latest software from Garmin is installed and I have an XP PC. Please help? Thanks! Jim Oldfield Jr.

A couple of days ago, I touched my favorites to locate a stop. When I touched the button on the screen, the button to the immediate right activated and it went to that screen. It did this several times,and I finally tried a reset. This cleared the problem...........for awhile. A couple of hours later, the problem re-occured. Is this a common problem with the touchscreens?

I have had a Garmin StreetPilot 2730 since last year. Ihave dowloaded quite a few Custom POIs and now I am wondering how the memory is partitioned. Is it hard partitioned or soft partitioned. For example, if I have a number of Custom POIs downloaded, does that reduce the amount of memory available for saving routes?

There's a new version for the nuvi 350. Doesn't look like it does much.

Says it's been out since April 17th. I've been checking most every day and didn't see it until today.

So I've been on here for a week or 2 now and I finally got my new garming in my hand yesterday - I spent the entire evening just driving around and playing with it (the GARMIN!!!) which is not a bright move with gas being like 25 bucks a gallon right? Anyway - I've put in some POI's I've put in my 2G memory card - SOOO....what's next?

Does anyone have any interesting splash screens for the nuvi 660 startup routine? I mistakenly deleted the bmp of the original garmin / nuvi can someone post or send to me? -Regards whereuheaded (better bring a garmin)

Does anyone know if you can have both the ext. mic connected and have ext sound connection?

I currently have my Nuvi connected using the RCA Aux port to my car stereo. I have been contemplating using the ext mic. I noticed the ext mic uses the same jack as the Aux port connection.

Can I use both? Do they make a cable that will support audio out (L/R channel) and audio in?
