Nuvi 350 my first experience on highway and a bit wierd one

So I finally got to use my Nuvi 350 on the highway. It was doing good (we were supposed to reach our destination at 5:30 pm), but we took a shortcut which was not on the map. After we got to the part where the GPS knew where we were, it changed the ETA to 9:01 am!!! This scared me, but since I knew where I was going it was not a big deal. After reaching my destination, I checked where it was trying to take me. It turned out that it was trying to take me to Kansas to Garmin's factory. WTH!!! Has this ever happened to anybody?
The way back to my home was almost smooth, except for a little kinks in the city, but it was okay.

Since it was a new "baby" Nuvi maybe it got mad at you for not listening to it.
"Waah! If you don't listen to me, I'm going home!!!"
I've never had my c550 try to run away back home but I did have it completely give up once when I was in a large area of new roads that weren't on the map. It finally just said there was no route to my destination and quit navigating.
But it's only happened once in the 10,000 or so miles I've put on it since I got it.

Officer I'm sorry I was going the wrong way on that one-way street but my GPS told me to turn left ... Oh, I'm still getting a ticket, okay then the GPS will see ya in court!
