Is it all or nothing?
It seems that if I want to import an updated .csv POI file, I have to upload ALL of them. I tried updating the latest red light/speed camera POIs from a separate folder. After uploading those two POIs, all my other ones were gone.
Seems I have to put each POI file in the same folder and import all of the every time I need to add an updated single POI file. Weird...

Question about Traffic Avoidance
(I posed this question in a Nuvi Yahoo forum, but a fellow user suggested that I might get better feedback here.)
Hi,
I haven't journeyed far since I got the Nuvi 660 (only yesterday!)
I often drive from Long Island to the Pennsylvania Poconos and back.
The route usually planned brings me across the George Washington
Bridge, which is the quickest route IF there is no construction,

c330 - two versions
Well a week or so ago I discovered I had a c330 with a different board and firmware. It had v4.40 loaded on it and according to ProductSupport this was the same as v5.70.
With the Black Friday deal, I picked up another c330 (which has v5.60 on it) and returned the v4.40 for a refund. They wouldn't do just a refund of difference.

C530 VS the new NUVI series ?? Comparisons please?
I am considering a NUVI 650 from Costco, but what's up with the C530s?
Can anyone compare those units?
I know lots of people just love their C330s. What's different about the C530, and what's better about the NUVI's compared to the C530?

mp3 playlist limitation?
Does anyone run into a limitation of mp3 playlist in 360?
My 360 is less than a week old. I took out the SD card straight from my palm PDA and put it into the SD slot of 360. It did find the pictures and songs alright. But for the playlist, it shows only 50 but I know I have 80+
I'd sent an email to Garmin support about it on 11/23 and haven't heard from them yet.

Garmin Nuvi 700 Series Proximity Red Light Alert Text - Change to RED?

New Poi Verifier
New Poi Verifier v1.0.1.3 at POI Verifier.
Changes from v1.0.1.2 to v1.0.1.3:
1. Some POIs have been uploaded with the nüvi 350/360 compatible linebreaks (i.e.
). These linebreaks do not display correctly on other GPS units. There is now an option to convert all
linebreaks to the standard linebreaks.
2. Although Garmin's format for csv POI files is longitude first column, latitude second column, some GPS units require latitude first. Also, a few POIs have been uploaded with latitude in the first column. To help with these issues, the second option added will swap the longitude and latitude columns.
Anyone with v1.0.1.2 can install this version with no additional registration number. Just uninstall the old version before installing the new version.
Any problems, please email me.
EDITED 11/28/2007
VISTA USERS: Just discovered that when uninstalling the old version, the old serial number and registration number is also removed. If you have this problem when uninstalling v1.0.1.2, just email me your new serial number and I'll give you a new registration number.

Noobie Nüvi question
Hi
havent had time to upload any custom POIs to my Nüvi 250w yet. Can someone tell me how they appear on the POI menu? Is there a separate touch button for each one or are they all bundled under one for the custom POIs? I am sure it is similar for all the 2xx series.
Thanks in advance.

MSN Trafffic
I find the coverage area is smaller than advertised, I live in the western Chicago 'burbs and I am out of range until closer to the city. Also, my experience is that I get a traffic alert just about the time I see brake lights up ahead. Since I drive the tollways, it is too late to jump off for an alternate route.

Software updates for Nuvi
Does anyone know how to check the software version currently on your Nuvi and where to obtain updates if it needs to be updated? I just purchased a Nuvi 760 and want to ensure it has the latest firmware/software updates.

Elevation on the 660?
Didn't realize it was missing till someone asked me where it was... Is there a way to see your current elevation on the 660? Likewise, can you get your current lat/long? This seems pretty basic but I couldn't find it anywhere in the menus.

Which map use?
Since getting my Nuvi 350, I have been running in 3D map mode and was wondering if everyone runs in 3D or 2D map mode?
Thanks

Garmin and POI files question
Can the Garmin NUVI units (like the Nuvi 650) load and open multiple POI files at the same time?
I am thinking of getting a 650, mostly to get enhanced POI capability, which it seems is missing from my current Magellan 2200T unit. Well, not missing, but limited. Too limited for me!

Garmin Wish List./Tricks & Shortcuts.
I bought my first GPS a couple of months ago, and I am completely hooked on it. I am glad I picked Garmin, because the few occasions I had to call, their staff comes across as outstanding folks.

MSN Receiver question
Is the coverage area for this receiver based strictly on the reception of the signal, or is it bsaed on available content as well? In other words, while travelling through an area with coverage could I look ahead on my route, in an area without coverage, and still find gas prices (or movie times, or weather)for that area?

New Nuvi 650 Report
I just received my NUVI 650 today and took it for a ride after loading a Few Mp3 songs...and without even opening the Book.Very easy to use. It has a great Screen..it is very fast, and updates are almost instant. I will say though I think it is almost useless to have the Mp3 and Not have the FM transmitter that sends it to your Radio speakers.

Still waiting for my 680…
For those who didn't see my earlier post, I returned my 660 and bought a 680 from Costco online for $479.99, which was $220 less than the 660. I figured that it was worth giving MSN a test, since the 660's traffic didn't do much for me on our round trip from Dana Point, CA to Sedona, AZ in October.
