I've heard that Garmin Streetpilots have touchy batteries.

Is it bad to charge the Garmin c530 when its not actually dead?

Sometimes I plug it in the car when driving even though its not totally dead. Othertimes like today im working on POIs so ive left it connected to the computer (which charges it) all day long, and it was already at full battery power.

Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

I looked for this but didnt see any thing in other forums.

my question is once you upload the pois into the garmin Do they automatically come up on the map when your near them or do i have to go into the extras option where i see they are located to use them?

Aiight I want a garmin Gps cthat has Msn live and all that stuff Idont need a Mp3 pplayer but it would be nice Are therye any really good Nuvis that do all that stuff

I have a Garmin 780 which is suppose to locate my car after I have removed the GPS unit from its mount. How do I use this feature?

i dont quite remember if i have posted this.. but i remember looking for a certain place and my garmin 660 had two destinations for the same address.

is there an EASY way to see all the destinations and delete the outdated or duplicates???

I loaded several POI's from this website using POI Loader and I can see the files in my POI folder on the NUVI but when I go to EXTRAS to view the custom POI's nothing is listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated by this Newbie.

What is the quickest/easiest way to display a file of POI's on a map on a PC? For areas that I'm not familiar with I'd like to see a map of the POI's.

Some thing I did while updating my garmin streetpilot c580 removed all my maps. Everything works except it can not find any locations due to not having any maps. I have looked on garmin site on google, but have not been able to find out how to find and download the orginal map files. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you Defragment your GPS? Would it hlp speed things up. I looked at mine and it stated that it need to be done.

anyone else have alot of trouble with the bluetooth firmware updater freezing on the screen rendering the unit useless. I am at the point of having to send it in but was hoping id check here first!!

Newelwy purchased Garmin GPS Devices With 2008 Maps are still eligible for 2009 Update. Fax your receipt to Garmin to get the update.

Can this model of garmin use both GPX and CVS? I am having trouble with the CVS. Help Please!!

It seems to me there are a lot of people buying GPSs that have not fully researched the topic first.

I was wonderin if anyone knew if there was a way to make the nuvi display rest areas and mile markers on the display map?

We just used our Garmin Nuvi 760 for the first time on a two-week trip. It was great. We used it rather than the GPS unit built into our car after a brief comparison of the two as we traveled the first 25 miles. The Custom POIs make the Garmin the unquestioned choice!

I do, however, have some questions and needs that do not seem to be handled by the 760.

hey, hey, I'm a new GPS user and have a Garmin Streetpilot 330C. I would like to down load some of the files located here but wish to know if any one has had any experiece with doing so on a this Garmin model.

i was reading about SirfInstantFix and was wondering if my Nuvi 760 has this.
i went to my system/ about and found a folder "Sirf"
and it says: Powered by SirfInstantFixII 2008 Sirf Technology

now i don't know how much better my unit picks up satelites, but i enjoy my Nuvi7060 very much
