Garmin talk

On my 660 when I would come near a Redlight Camera I would get a alert that would repeat about 3 or 4 times. On my 885T it sounds off once and thats it. Is there anything I can do to make it repeat like my 660 ?

Just thought I would pass on to all that I contacted Garmin regarding my Nuvi 680 which started to have battery problems (16 months - out of warranty) and they were very supportive and replaced the battery on the unit free of charge. Thanks Garmin! GMD

When I use POI loader to add the combined rest areas, I can never see them in extras like I can other stuff - Starbucks Coffee, etc... that I loaded exactly the same way. Any help appreciated!

I have a nuvi 775t that comes with the CNNA maps as well as the European Maps.

Garmin does not send a MapSource DVD with the units.

So how in the world am I supposed to use the maps with Mapsource ?

When I used mapsource to try to "transfer" the maps to MapSource, it told me the unit had no maps.

Regarding Garmin Liftime nu maps program. Are DVD's available for this program. We have 1 GB memory on our computer, with 600 MB physical memory available. Is this suitable for downloading updates by internet.

I am new to this forum and would like to know if I am downloading (Rest Area's for USA) just "how" do I do this ? Down load to lap-top then to Nuvi 5000 or direct to Nuvi 5000...tks for guidence. Fleetwood

I use the garmin 200W. I can dowload a poi from this site but the title of it does not show and all other files under extras are deleated. What am I doing wrong? I am a newbie at this. Help please.

My S/O tried to make a call out using the 265wt blue tooth garmin unable to do so.
She is able to get calls on it with the blue tooth...but not to call out..
Any suggestions?

does anyone know how to adjust volume on Nuvi 650 after update (volume not as loud)

I purchased the GDB-50 MSN Direct receiver for my 765T. I have my GPS mounted high on my windshield and have installed my power cord so its hidden behind the plastic on my driver side roof pillar, and cannot be seen nor removed easily.

Is anyone else having the same issue?

- I've installed a few custom POI files from this site (including a graphic and sound for each).

- I've made sure that the .csv file, .mp3 file, and .bmp files are all named the same thing (except the extensions).

- I've transferred them to my 765 using the latest version of POI loader (from the garmin site) using the 'MANUAL' option.

What are or what causes very small circles to appear what I believe are random locations that ID nothing in particular?

So just got my new garmin 755T, and out of the box after a short time being online it showed a traffic icon on the map.

This weekend was adding some POI's, etc. which I don't think have anything to do with it.

But this morning no traffic icon showed up on the whole trip to work.. Major highway in chicagoland (290/355)

How long can I expect the battery to last in my Nuvi 1350 & how can I get a replacement. Plan on getting the lifetime update or should I just get a new unit, based on the battewry life.

Does anyone know if the Extra POI Editor will work with Windows 7?

I just downloaded the trial version and keep getting the following error:

Component 'RICHTX32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I tried running the editor in XP SP2 compatibility mode in Windows 7 and that does not work either.

Any help?

Question regarding POI files. I download a POI file to my PC and succesfully load it to my 765T with POI Loader. A day later I download a different POI file.

How does the loading works? Do I reload all the POI from the files in my PC to the 765T every time I want to load a new POI file?

I am fairly computer savvy. Just came from TomTom 530. I have struggled to create categories for my custom POI's. I just cannot understand the file structure. I have tried multiple iterataions.

I had to make a service call to a location in an out of the way backwoods town. When I tried to program the address into the GPS, it could not find the road. I traveled to the closest town and stopped at the Post Office to get directions and finally got to the address. While I was on these gravel back roads the unit would label all the roads with the correct name.

Has anybody compared Garmin 765t with 885t?

Their street prices are close, 885t has speech recognition which I care less.
I am looking for speedy and accurate map directions with lane assistance. This gets tricky on the freeways with multiple intersection close to each other.
