So far this thing seems to work pretty well...
I'll be driving around ny... bklyn, queens, long island...
I'm an RN dealing with the mentally ill...
And I really want to avoid the red light cameras, so I'm hoping that I am able to download an up-to-date POI file to the NUVI soon, so I can stay out of trouble.

Its tough enough dealing with my clientele (I enjoy it, but it can cause times where I go back to my car and need to decompress), so between that, traffic, appointments, I don't need to worry if I was seeing a flash that's gonna result in an unwelcome piece of mail...

I think the new one camera around the corner from the house snagged me the other day.

Welcome to the site

Roadnurse,

Let me welcome you to the site. I know you will enjoy your time here and pick up a lot of neat tricks and tips as well as the best red light and speed camera files available.

Her Highness, the Borg Queen (also known as Miss POI) is coming back from vacation shortly so all us drones will have to get busy on the business of this site, making POI.

Again, welcome and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Welcome to the site and god

Welcome to the site and god bless you with what you are doing.I also have a 265 wt.Once you become a active member you will have free access to the Redlight and Camera files so you need to post when you can.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/262 .Once you get the hang of everything and get the cameras downloaded you can use wav files to get voice alerts since 265 will not work with mp3's.The voice alerts are a nice addition when added with the custom pois. Many members will help out if needed.

Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks for the welcome, I appreciate it.

I'm going to use the NUVI for work for the first time tomorrow, as I head out to Far Rockaway for a visit with some people who need my help, then a few stops and back to the office. It'll be nice to not have to sit down at the PC to print out my routes tonight...

Now to find a good place to mount it.

Welcome to the site!

You will find this site a very valuable tool for GPS information.

I just did

It took a few hours to download, but I took advantage of the free map update... went from 2010,10 to 2010.20. Like I'd know the difference... lol...

The firmware/software seemed up to date already.

I'm going to bed now. Gotta get up and at 'em early in the AM.

Thanks again, all.

redlight files

The redlight files at:
http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles/us/red-light-cameras
you can support this site via
http://www.poi-factory.com/payment/choices
Donate $20 for a year's access to the redlight files is worth it, until you become an active member.
I know my way around NYC, but bring the gps just for the redlight cams.

Welcome to the site. lots of help, lots of valuable information and lots of friendly people. Enjoy!.

Welcome. I too have been here just a short time and have found the members very friendly and helpful. There are also many POI files you may interest you in addition to the red light file.

Since you live and work in a fairly populated area please do not forget to remove your GPS and mount from your window when you park. You don't want to avoid the tickets and get stuck with the cost of window replacement as well as the GPS.
