Has anybody else here had a problem with their vehicle power cable? The reason I ask is my wife told me that the vehicle power cable for her Garmin Nuvi 500 was no longer working. Upon closer examination it appears as if the wire inside the plastic insulation may have broken.

Just bought a nuvi 3590 after having my 755 stolen. Trying to upload my adresses using basecamp. it seems to upload on the device but addresses are not showing on the unit. I used export to internal memory of the gps... the process has upload but nothing on the unit afterward... ? Never had problems before with mapsource.

Is poiloader still working with 3590?

I'm particularly interested in the Nicaragua detail and POI's if anyone has used this map there.

Is it possible for me to create a BMP of my Jeep and put into my GPS?

From what I see, yes you can create a BMP, best if its 24 x24 or 18x18...example-for Starbucks etc..

But I don't see how to load it into my 465T as a BMP.

Please assist or redirect me.

I reviewed the tutorial on how to download cemetary poi to garmin gps. When it was completed, he showed how to access a certain cemetary. when he accessed it he pressed "GO" and the garmin proceeded to the site. I downloaded walmarts poi on my 2350 lmt garmin unit. I pressed "where to", pressed Extra, showed custom poi, selected a certain walmart store.

Thinking about replacing my GPS. Can anyone comment on the Garmin nuvi 3490LMT and/or the 3590LMT?

When I bought my nuvi 1300LM it came with the whole US (including Alaska and Hawaii), Mexico and Canada (full NA map), when I did an update in 2012 it only allowed for the continental US/Hawaii/Alaska. Latest update (2013) it is giving me trouble with the install, which it wants to be just the continental US. Any ideas why or is just Garmin being a$$&%#@L#*?

Just saw on Garmins Facebook page that they are telling people to send emails to social.support@garmin.com.

The email address they told me is product.support@garmin.com

Anyone have experience with the first email address?

Hello out there..

Question about FM Transmitter 465t... Are their any settings we can change to make it more effective ?

I did read some posts "FM Transmitter Strength FIX" checked it out on my 465T... I could not see how it applied..

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.. Have a wonderful Day/Week..

I just recently purchased the lifetime update for my Garmin Nuvi 680. (I broke it)... Trying to get it fixed. But was thinking I'd just update my sons Garmin. It won't let me. It tells me that this isn't the unit the map upgrade was purchased for. Can you transfer it to another unit?

On a trip to Northern Spain 10 days ago, the route downloaded from Mapsource to the 660 amongst other weird directions it said take exit from autoroute, u turn at bottom of slip road (off ramp) go back up the off ramp obviously against the flow of traffic!!!!!!! and rejoin the autoroute where it just told me to exit. how crazy is that!!

That's odd. Yesterday I submitted a FAQ on how to report map errors. Today, a FAQ showed up on the Recent Posts by someone else from 5 years ago.

Wonder what happened?

Just bought a garmin 1490. have had a lorance gps, navigon gps, and magellan gps.
of all 4 brands only the magellan gps when asked "Where is the closes police to my home location" came back with correct location.

all other brands come back with the same answer wich is 17 miles and further.
none of the local police depts. come up.
does anyone have an answer to this and who can correct it.

I'm a confused newbie here after owning 5 previous Garmin products. I'm now the unhappy owner of a nuvi 50. I just used POILoader for the first time and downloaded 1 file. After completing the download I've lost all of the factory installed POIs! I must have done something wrong.

In the map mode, Garmin shows the name of the street you're driving on by not in the destination mode like TomTom does. Why doesn't Garmin do that as well and has Garmin addressed this in the past and decided it was too expensive to revise their maps?

I purchased the POI Factory's Speed Alert Camera csv file last week and while driving this morning in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, I noticed quite a few 7 km/h speed alerts on my Nuvi 1490LMT screen. Yes, 7 km/h! I opened the csv file and I was unable to locate which lines say 7 km/h.

The speedometer on my 1350 has been getting stuck. It will display the speed for a while and it becomes stuck at one speed for a while.

When I push on the "speed xxmph" it briefly displays the current speed and switches to full screen dashboard view.

In dashboard view, speedometer works.

Go back to the main map view and speedometer is stuck until I power cycle.
