Sorry, but it can't be done

The lifetime map update you purchased fpr ypur 680 CANNOT be transferred to another Nuvi. The map includes an unlock code in a separate file that will unlock the map ONLY for the unit you purchased it for.

I wish you the best in getting your 680 repaired and being able to use the Lifetime Maps once again.

I've only had my Nuvi 1490LMT just over one week and the updated 2003 map for 6 days and while driving around Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, I could not believe how many errors there are with the map.

Examples: A Canadian Tire store icon showing a store still when it had converted into a YMCA some 10 years ago. A music store located to the left of a street I driving on, however the Garmin voice told me to turn right instead. Two Royal Banks of Canada located 700 metres apart. A police department is shown that's no longer there. An ESSO gas station is shown that's no longer there.

Yes, I'll inform Garmin of all of the above.

What do expect from a 2003 map, of couse it won't show recent updates.

Just kidding, must be a typo for 2013 maps.

Why don't you try doing a hard reset, make sure you back up your favorites.

Until 2 years ago, I used my Magellan hand-held with the 2006 detail maps. It did a good job. Of course the built-in POIs sucked. That is why I joined the poi-factory forum.

You are confusing "the map" with "the POI".

There maybe nothing wrong with the map but the information gathered to create the built in POI, it maybe outdated information in some areas.
