Well I have been successful in getting POI files (specifically Redbox locations) to work along with my custom .bmp to show up. Maybe, I should say too successful. In my many attempts at getting it right I now have 3 "folders" that contain the same POIs.

Here is my screen navigation:

-Custom POIs

I've tried 3 Garmin Nuvi 3597's since they first went on sale and they all seem to take forever to re-calculate a route; 10-20 seconds for a local route and over 1 minute for a multi state route. This is especially bad when you traveling on vacation and you are waiting over 1 minute on the shoulder.

New firmware update version 3.30 for the Nuvi 2597 and others.

I recently programmed my 2460 for a trip. This trip was about 3 hours travel time (Kingston Ontario). When I selected the route from my favourites list it literally took 2 hours to calculate it. I have the latest maps and software. I have erased my trip logs (blue tracking line), but it still took way too long. I just started heading in the direction I needed to go.

Just bought a nice Garmin c580 with City Navigator North America NT 2008.

I'm looking to see if updating the map makes sense, but when I go to the Garmin automotive map website all I see ifs a mostly blank page:

Can anyone tell me what the icons are that pop up in the text bar when you approach a speed or red light camera. Why do they remain there even after passing the camera. Can you get rid of them. I have a nuve 3597

I loaded the Redbox locations custom poi (csv) to my nuvi 40. When I use my gps and select Where To?/Extras/Custom POIs on the gps I do not get a folder that specifies the Redbox pois. Is that possible to have that option?

I live near Apple Valley MN. A new road section of Flagstaff Avenue, that formerly ended at 147th St W, now continue to 140th St W. Approximately how long will it be until it shows up on City Navigator maps?

My neighborhood has a restaurant, a coffee shop, a pizza place, a chinese takeout place, a liquor store, gas, grocery, and 2 banks. When driving around my neighborhood my Garmin chooses to only show 2 icons on the map, and they are both the $ sign icon indicating a bank or ATM. Why is that?

About to buy my first gps. You have talked me out of the 3590. Now considering the 2597, 3597, or 2460. Thoughts? Thanks for your input.

Is there a primer on the various Garmin Map files? I wasn't sure if I was getting everything in my latest update on my Nuvi 755T since I have junctions, 3d buildings and all that.

Hello, if you're reading this and know how please help...this is an emergency.

I was trying to format a 2gb micro sd card and instead formatted the internal memory of the gps Nuvi 1350. Now it starts and freezes on "Garmin."

Please help me if you can. I'm not worried about the map for now, I just need it to start. Please help.

Does POI Factory red camera poi include NYC area?

Wasn't there a series of nuvis that showed the name of the cross street coming up instead of the street you are driving on? Question #2, what do you owners of the 2595LMT and the 2797LMT think of those GPSr?

I've got 2 gps unit (both Zumo 550's). I have 2 separate lifetime map updates (North America), 1 for each. I have downloaded 2014.10 update to my PC (using MyMaps site on the Garmin web site for one of the units), used MapInstall to load the news maps to that unit.

Good Morn'en,
I recently upgraded from a 3790 to 3490LMT and cant get it to load up my POI's. The computer is not finding the device. Does anybody know what the problem might be and have a solution.

Looks like a new map update is available or has been....instead of fooling with express, since last time garmin told me not to use it as it is often problematic, I simply went to mapupdater and it will probably work the first time.

Nothing like waiting 2 hours to see something fail, then try again for another 2 hours for the same thing (at least that was my experience with express)

When I fired up BaseCamp today an update was downloaded to my computer. I installed it and am playing with a new feature (Trip Planner). At least I think it is new. Not sure what benefit it will be to my Nuvi 50, but interesting none the less.
