Convert gpi to csv?

How do I convert a gpi file to a csv file? I searched Google and kept finding: GPS DATA TEAM WEBSITE, registered paid the fee but the online tools do not work???
How could i do this conversion?

Try

GPI to CVS

Howdy,

I would use Extra POI Editor:

http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor

You can load up the GPI file and then save to CSV

GPI

EPE will save as a gpi file but you can't load one to it.

Use GPSBabel. It's free. I have reverse engineered a file or 2 myself.

I did a couple of weeks ago and merged 2 gpi files; my temp from a while back, and the current. Edited for dupes, and saved it.

What version are you using? I have the latest one. Using Windows 8 and it doesn't show the gpi extension for upload. No problem to save a file as a gpi.

Not sure what is going on.

Not sure what is going on. Tried several times. You do mean gpi not gpx right.

You are correct -- I was thinking gpx, not gpi. Thanks for pointing this out.

Yep, gpi. As in from the favorites category. Current.gpi, and Temp.gpi melded as I needed many from the old 'Temp.gpi'.

When you say current that is favorites current.gpx not current.gpi. temp.gpx is when you load to current.gpx.

When you open Garmin folder with GPS connected. Touch POI folder and that is where the gpi file is. Are we talking about the same thing? All test I done will not allow EPE to load a gpi file but will allow you to save as a gpi file. Just like poiloader does.

How easy it is to assume

the .gpi file that POI Loader creates is very different from the .gpx file that it can use as one of it's inputs.

Sometimes we just do not see what was written.

The OP has not been back in but I would suggest he try
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/gpsbabel/

I would be interested in what his desired outcome would be. What file needs to be reverse engineered.

Crap

Now I have to check it to make sure.
