Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – July 2015

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Multiple Units Running on One Trip?

I was running the Built in Navigation in my Nissan, and running Tom-Tom on my iPhone, and Here! Drive on my Windows Phone. On a trip I regularly take, I wanted to see how close the three would be. I was happily surprised that except for one spot, all three provided identical directions. The one differentiation was that the Nissan system is three years old, and the Tom Tom software is several months old, where the map set used for Here Drive had recent changes.

My first GPS was also in the car, and she was not amused. smile grin

Went for a spin with other sport bikers for breakfast. The one leading the way had to drop back to check the map on my Zumo several times since cell phone data coverage is sketchy out there and he was using his iphone for GPS.

I'm envious!!!

Enjoy that time as it will all to suddenly end especially after their hornymones really get going... Then you and the parents won't get any time with what was once precious little grand children!

Well that time is near. The oldest is 16 and the twins are 13!

Summer camping trip

Camped at Pigeon Creek State Park (WI) for a few nights and kayaked the Black River. On the way home drove to Norwalk and rode part of the Elroy-Sparta Trail. Camping gear is clean and put away until early Sep when we do the dunes at Van Buren SP in MI.

Summer camp--

Our daughter is working for the summer at a Girl Scout camp on the coast. Was reviewing things on my Nuvi when I got a message from her that she had a ride home for her break between sessions! While the part along the coast is a nice drive, not having to do it at all is nicer!

I'm sure I'll get the chance (multiple times) before the summer is over...

Last week did a round

Last week did a round trip...Winnipeg to Thunder Bay, then to Minneapolis to Fargo to Winnipeg.

The 1490LMT took the worst possible routes compared to the 780 and the Acura GPS. It continually routed us on longer routes with the same settings as the 780. If we had followed the 1490 it would have added several hours overall due to continuous turn left, turn left, turn left to get to the destination as well as taking overall "dumb" routes (go past, take another expressway, switch to a third expressway and there you are instead of staying on the original expressway directly to the destination.

What a PITA.

Looking for a new motorcycle.....

We spent the weekend hitting a half-dozen or so of the motorcycle shops in the area (many of them I'd never been to or heard of). I got rid of my three old Harleys three months ago because I thought my riding days were over....but I'm going crazy (I've been riding since I was 14, I guess it's in my blood).

I think I still have a few more years left... Looking to get back into the wind again...
