I have a hunch that the map will be released for download in the month of March

Garmin still has a good week where they could publish the manifest and still get the 2015.40 map released in Feb. But if we go into next week and still no manifest ... I would tend to agree with you.

That would be unprecedented...although not impossible. The .40 map has always been released before March.

Well I missed the date, I was hoping for the 10th

Because Garmin loves us all so much, they will release it on Valentine's Day as a Valentine to us all...oh wait, that's a Saturday. The staff will all be in restaurants where everyone else will be.

For the Update!

I've been successful with my two last map predictions using the following procedure:

1- I check daily the following link to see if the manifest has been uploaded onto Garmin servers

2- For both previous times the map was released to the public for download exactly 16 days later.

This time around I'll do the same and hope for the best

If though 16 days later this time around ends up on a Sunday, I'll certainly round it off to the following Tuesday as I doubt very much it'll be released on a weekend.

Knowing the above along with the fact that the Europe map is on their servers and not yet released, I'm almost certain North America maps won't be released until March.

This theory is and should be considered as precise as a weatherman's forecast

Well, if directed around the wrong corner, Dorkus must have been using a Tom Tom. No one's ever been misled by a Garmin with City Navigator...

CraigW Right, but Garmin is not a reference in terms of ''updates''.

I only posted this because it's in the "Garmin talk" forum regarding 2015.40 which I (maybe incorrectly) assumed is a Garmin-only identifier for map updates of City Navigator.

I try very hard not to post in the quarterly "is it here yet?" thread and held off until page three this time.

So many times i pick a restaurant or gas station and it takes me to a home or empty lot. Im aware business go out if business, but geeeesh

that when 'THE' update arrives, there will be a new thread started as with previous update. Correct?

If the release of the Europe 2015.40 is any indication, we may still have somewhat of a wait for the NA map release.

Note that the manifest for the Europe map was published on Feb 2, so this seems like the Europe map release has been delayed.

I'm not convinced that poster has accurate information.
That being said, indeed we are in for a long wait since CN Europe has been on the servers for 17 days thus far and CN NA isn't even on the servers yet. We'll just need to be patient, our day will come.

Let's all choose a date and time to flood a restaurant.. Like a Denny's or an IHOP and see how well we can screw up their normal a schedule and drive their cooks goofy by ordering all at the same time

am I ready for another update. The last 3 have been worse than a chinese fire drill.

I've been so busy with work lately that I have neglected this site. It only dawned on me the other day that there should be a new map coming out soon. Glad to see there is a 2015.40 thread already chugging along.

I just don't get why some get so "fanatical" over these updates. Seems like the same posters are consumed over this each time. Leaves me shaking my head ??

That said, this forum is great so one can just pop-in occasionally to see what is new.
