Keeping the Windmill Alive - Your last trip? - April 2012

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.) Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Lost my windmill, need to start over.

My last trip was to Orlando using my 2 year old Roadmate 1700. Audio was not working and had some trouble on the turns. Could not get support for it and decided to dump Magellan. Will try a garmin nuvi this time.

What a trip...

Just got back from a WEEK on the road. Didn't expect to be gone so long, either!

Covered perhaps 2500 miles, between Clovis, New Mexico -- Cabool, Missouri -- Big Spring, Texas -- Denver, Colorado -- Durango, Colorado -- finally back to the Clovis area. Pretty much in that order, too. I'm tired.

From ILL to KC

Saturday we toured Kansas City, looking at the fountains. I used a route on my 295w and a 1490t TourGuide file to identify the fountains & sculptures as we drove slowly past...Sunday we attended the NASCAR race.

Tool "jack" along for the ride. It was interesting to see how close we passed by various islands on the way. We came close enough to Cuba to see it with the naked eye!

Newfoundland

Currently driving through Newfoundland, stopped in an oddly named town (Dildo). Nice little town, reminded me of Peggy's Cove. Very friendly people, although not a lot going on there. Hoping to head to France tomorrow if the ferry is running (St. Pierre and Miquelon).

Another trip

Every two years or so I do a "round the USA" trip and see friends, relatives and sometimes mix in a little business.

I've not been back up on this site for quite a while (long story due to interruptions) so I've lost all my badges (windmills, stars, etc.).

So, leaving on another trip in about a week and a half. Going from Phoenix to Albuquerque, Denver, Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, Port Clinton, OH, Trumbull, CT, Hartford CT, Boston, Nashville, New Orleans, San Antonio, El Paso and back.

Lost my hard drive about a year ago and so lost all the POI info as well as Garmin update files. Have some catch up to do.

Last

Last trip was driving back from our winter home in Mesa AZ, to Vancouver BC, using our 3790, which worked perfectly.
