In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go. (Like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.) Anything to keep your windmill alive.
This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.
It's funny to see how the GPS reacts when I take a new highway that's not in its map!! It keeps trying to find landmarks and as soon as one gets close by, it tells me to find a way to get there!!
Too long ago, so we need to get going now that the weather is nice.
We GPSed all around Oklahoma, Arkansas, & Texas last year. The GPS and the POIs help us discover interesting routes that we might not otherwise try.
GPS got my truck and fiver to Lake Pleasant. A tow truck got my truck to the dealership and another one got my fiver back to storage
Putting POI on the 1450 for my trip to AZ
to take us for a 4 day weekend to Nashville. Love the lane assist. Worked very well.
Last trip took me from Clovis, NM to Portales, NM. Then to Denver, Co, Durango, Co, and finally back to Clovis. Leaving Sunday for the Portland, Oregon area.
Don't need to take a trip to use the GPS ... it's used virtually all the time when driving. We move it from one vehicle to another.
Unit never leaves the car except when I want to update !
Love the fact that it keeps a log of my past driving in case I should be involved in some kind of situaton that it will help having my location, time & speed recorded.
Also the speed reading is more accurate !
my thoughts - ought to be with 5 cents in this inflated economy !
Drove from Northern Illinois through Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida, spent many miles driving around Orlando, Titusville, Daytona Beach, and Cocoa Beach Florida areas last week. Returned home to N.IL where's there's snow on the ground. Miss the 70's and 80's degree temperatures.
Going out to find some more auto shops.
tomorrow am bright and early...
but updated the POIs on the system. Getting ready for motorcycle ride from Nevada to Florida Keys
No where special - just to Bellefontain, OH and back from Troy, OH - New to the area so it was exploratory for me.
Not too much traveling around for the past couple of weeks, but made a drive south of Baltimore and back today, most of the trip on I95. Overall, the weather was clear and sunny, and traffic was moderate and steady moving. Used the Android phone and the Google nav app. Worked well; no freezes and all recommended parts of the route were clear and made sense.
Drove across the San Mateo bridge (San Francisco bay area) to drop off our taxes to the tax preparer, then decided to explore stores that may have the Hoover Max Extract carpet cleaner in stock- like bed bath and beyond, target, walmart, sears, etc. We found those places but they did not have the model we are looking for. Nice to know we can just press "Go Home" and not worry about where we are at the time to find the bridge home.
My last trip using the GPS was on Saturday, when we explored western Frederick County, MD. The kids had fallen asleep in the car on the way to Costco, so we took an impromptu roadtrip while they napped.
Explored southern Maryland on the motorcycle with the 2610 allowing me to wander without getting lost.
Sorry, Have a great Monday
"The Big Apple"
Have a great week and stay safe.
Washington, DC to Front Royal, VA. A quickie.
back from getting my Stress Test done. Coffee sure taste good after fasting.
Montgomery, Alabama to Las Vegas, Nevada and back. Drove along I-40 and as much as old Route 66 as possible. My Nuvi was indispensable on this trip.
San Francisco for the weekend!
Helped me navigate around a road closure. Used my trusty nuvi 760.
Drove along I-40 and as much as old Route 66 as possible.
My first trip on Route 66 was from Springfield Illinois to Amboy California in 1958. Our most recent trip was in 2008. Some of my favorite landmarks are still there.
used it to find some out of the way shops.
Traveled from DFW to/from Lincoln, NE
Still trying to adapt to NUVI software in my 2460
Traffic alerted me to an accident closing the highway just north of Denton, TX
Did not see junction views north of Oklahoma City
Speed limits have been increased in Kansas and Texas but are not updated in the latest map version
Loaded the Rest Areas POI and was very helpful. One Rest Area was missing in north Oklahoma on 135/81.
Will research missing rest area on I-35 in N. Ok.
Added NB Rest Area, I-35 at MM223 in OK to my Master File for next update at POI Factory.
Thanks for Input !
4 days in Traverse City, Michigan.
Man... I gotta do something about my big fat fingers!
I make pens on my lathe and needed some new kits. My gps helped me find the places. It was way on the backroads..
Drove to ST Louis MO for the Misery Valley Basketball Tournament (didn't win it) and then to Paducah KY to the National Quilt Museum. Wife spent some of her "ENTITLEMENT" money and then we drove to Chattanooga TN to the Delta Queen Hotel so that I can photograph it because I am building a 6 foot RC model of the boat from blue prints and needed to clarify some points. Then we headed home.
Picking up my new ride on Sat. Get to explore some new territory. On that note I am not sure how I want to mount my GPS. I have a spare dash disk, I may want to consider an alternate means.
Worked great as always, even on some rural back country roads.
Went to Dublin, CA to celebrate my granddaughter's 3rd birthday.
Giving the GPS a break this week. No need for it so far.
Bought some stuff at a Health Food Store.
family we haven't seen for 20 years. They flew in last night and we're having fun now!
Drove around NJ with routes familiar to the last map update and now with this update the route went back to when I first purchased the unit, scratching my head.
First trip to a red light state
To downtown Chicago...
Heading to upstate NY..
Worcester, Mass. or bust!?
DFW, TX to Mount Ida, AR
This was the first time I had seen so many road segments without speed limits available in the GPS. These were on Arkansas roads north of New Boston, TX heading towards Mount Ida.
Used my 60CSx for the trail riding portion of the trip.
Will be going from Arizona to Lake Powell, Bryce National Park, over to Zion National Park, up through Capital Reef National Park, then to Moab, Utah where we will enjoy Arches National Park, and Canyonlands. Going the end of this week.
