Download problems

Jst got the Nuvi 1300 and tried to download the map update. Everything goes fine. It states that the PC is ready for download, The GPS is ready for download, then goes to processing and that is all it does.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Have tried to redownload a number of times but get the same thing.

If you try to launch the successfully downloaded program and it appears that nothing's happpening, all may be OK if you're patient. Or disable UAC if you're using Windows Vista--check back at the beginning of this thread starting around July 30 for more UAC details. This link and its comments may also help you:

If the issue is getting the 2GB download on your computer to start the installation, let us know.

The problem is it never downloads. I have UAC off and have tried to download it using Windows 7, Vista & Xp and all do the same thing.

I had the same problem when I was using Internet Explorer trying to download it, it would stuck at processing. So I launched up firefox 3.5 and the download worked and successfully updated, eventho the garmin download manager didnt work.

RE: updated extras for me...

Thanks for the info! For some reason, it installs the new map as secondary.

Map Update

I have tried all browsers and still have the same problem. Gets stuck in processing.

Great! Hope that it includes more of 385 around Memphis

I can't say I experienced any problems with the previous updates on my 760. Downloading now and I look forward to seeing what's new.

find out what map version you have

Thank you for contacting Garmin International. In order to further troubleshoot this issue can you verify what version of mapping you have on your NUVI 265WT by following the instructions below. 1. Select "Tools"2. Select "Settings"3. Select "Map"4. Select "Map Info"

NUVI 5000 & NUVI 200W
( LIFETIME MAPS )

The actual map images is about 1.1 GB, plus the 3d and other stuff, 2.2gb should be the mapsource size...

European Maps Update

I was wondering when the European Update will be out. Last update was released in April so an update should be out soon.

I had a pleasant surprise

I updated mine and discovered that they included my neighborhood - I don't know if it was due or if reporting it to Navteq in my map reporter account did anything, as my neighborhood is going on 7 years old and it's in there.

New Map Updates

I have absolutely no inside information, but I have read on several forums that they were told by Garmin that the Europe update will be "any day" and usually followa the North American update pretty closely.

Maybe someone here has some better insider info.

Latest Map 1 year old?

Just got a screen that said the 2010.20 map is 1 year old and that I should update. As my daughter would say - what the hell? Any ideas?

Regards... Steve

.

Sounds like at some point you may have sent maps (perhaps unintentionally) from MapSource to the nuvi.

Go to Settings/Wrench > Map > Map Info and see what's listed there.

any way to see changes

any way to see changes without downloading ?

new maps!

Wow, I've been out of the game for a while now and it looks like my nuvi 360 is in need of an update. Thanks for the info about the newest maps!

Map 2010.20

I made a back up copy of the release. But it ask for a product code. I put the code that I had recieved with the update. Didn't work. Had to call
Garmin for help. They told me that you can't use the same product code. But they did get it to work.

Better late than ....

I am also signed up and did not receive an email notice about the 2010.20 maps. The only emails I have ever received from Garmin are a couple of advertisements and the notice of the mandatory 7x5 update in June.

After posting the above statement on this thread on Aug 3, I got an e-mail from Garmin today (Aug. 27) with the following:

Subject: Download your nuMaps Lifetime Update

nüMaps Lifetime™ Map Update Available
----------------------------------------------------

New map data is available for the preloaded maps on your Garmin device. Because you purchased a nüMaps Lifetime subscription, you can get this update by logging in to your myGarmin account and following the alert that will take you through the update process.

Your nüMaps Lifetime subscription lets you download the newest map data up to four times per year for the lifetime of your Garmin device. There are no monthly fees or continuing maintenance costs.

Well ... I guess I can no longer say that I have never received an e-mail notice from Garmin about map updates, albeit 1 month late.

I got that message this evening as well..

Maybe they fixed the problem and are doing this to inform the people that missed it without the email? I hope so.

We'll know next time around.
