2010.2 maps

I just got an email saying "June is Map Update Month" but it doesn't show up in "My Account" under "Manage Maps" and the Nuvi is connected. I should mention I have purchased Lifetime Maps. Has anyone found where they have hidden them or are they not really available? Nothing shows up in WebUpDater either.

Just an ad.

It is just an advertisement ... doesn't mean they have released a new map version. I got the same e-mail advertisement.

Interesting. I go there and I get told no updates available and a listing of the previous maps. Where did you see the new map?

I have not heard of the

I have not heard of the 2010.2 (I currently have 2010.1). Does anyone have the direct link on the garmin site?

garmin update

I received the email also. I also have lifetime updates and 2010.10 and garmin says no updates available. This is nothing more than a marketing play to get people to pay to update maps. Summer vacations coming soon..go figure

Got the same email but shows

Got the same email but shows no update when doing the search. Still North America NT 2010.10. Did you go on the garmin site jennyzita? Just wanted to know, when you were updating, did it take another 2 hours?

.

Yeah, 2010.2 isn't showing up on my my.Garmin account page yet.

Note that there won't be a "direct link" because you have to go to your individual my.Garmin.com page with your GPS unit connected to your computer.

false/mistaken alert

I think this was a false/mistaken alert. It's not showing up on my end either. July should be the next update if Garmin follows quarterly updates, but that has not been confirmed one way or the other. Whenever it comes out is when it comes out. cool

Garmin reply to my email about location:
Dear George Chapman,
Thank you for contacting Garmin International. If you would like to update maps, simply sign into your account, and go to "Manage Maps." The new map set will be here. As of your last update though, it appears there are no more available, so it could have been a double email. The next one should be coming out soon.

I dont know what he means about a "double email"

Yes, update

I can't agree with that. First, The OP paid (as many of us did) to do exactly what he is asking about - update to the latest maps. Second, it depends heavily on how much you travel and where you live as to how much change there is for each update. Tampa area had two major changes that I posted about before in the last update. An access road that now goes to businesses was constructed within the year in CT showed up on the update prior to the last. I'm sure there are many sometimes small sometimes big changes each time.

Same here. I just logged

Same here. I just logged into my Garmin account for my 880 and no update available for me either. Still using 2010.10

I may be off on this

I may be wrong, but I thought when I purchased my lifetime maps, it said I get 4 updates a year. So maybe those of you who can't access the map have done your update in the last 3 months so you don't qualify yet until you end a quarter (since you purchased the lifetime maps).

Not sure but I'll test mine out too. I wish they would update some of the little things in Phoenix. The street I live off of is perpendicular to the next street. It looks like a plus sign + from the air. However, the Nuvi tells me to turn left then turn right immediately even though I'm driving straight through. I've been here for almost 3 years now and the infrastructure has never changed.

Is there a way I can submit that change to Garmin so they will fix it on the map?

"june is map update month"

That is the topic of a blog at: http://garmin.blogs.com
It makes no reference to 2010.2 maps but more a general reference similar to June is Father's Day Month.

Hope all enjoy theirs!

I tend to go straight to the map supplier at Navteq and get the changes/updates done there. http://mapreporter.navteq.com/dur-web-external/secured/submi...

The Garmin description page says "up to four times per year." Which means it could be fewer and says nothing about specific dates or even months, that I could find.

Tampa, FL - Garmin nüvi 660 (Software Ver 4.90), 2021.20 CN NA NT maps | Magellan Meridian Gold

I got it too

but no map update. All I got was firmware 5.10 for my unit and my older unit has an available update for a price. I'm guessing if you have more than one unit registered and your older unit(s) can be updated, you get the e-mail.

2010.2 update

Its nice to know that 2010.2 is probably available now. Tomorrow we are starting out on a 7,00 mile one month drive.

I think I'll play safe and not update till we return back home.

Good I'll try this approach.

update to 2010

It is time for me to update my maps as my traffic update will expire on the 24th of this month. Is it best to do the lifetime update for $119.00 from Garmin and can anyone tell me if the traffic update will always work with no additional fees? I have a streetpilot c550.

Thanks in advance

The traffic subscription has nothing to do at all with the map update. When your traffic subscription expires, it will not affect the maps in any way. And having outdated maps won't affect your traffic subscription (or lack of). If you purchase the Lifetime Traffic subscription from Garmin, it will be just that...a lifetime subscription.

Shop around you can get the LT updates cheaper from a second hand retailer, you'll just have to wait a few days to get your card, you don't have to get it from Garmin,i didn't.

Same for me sad

Ditto

No 2010.2 yet.

Realtime traffic updates

To SoCal Mad Scientist: Thank you for that explanation. It appears that the lifetime subcription from Navtec is $49.99 and the one from clearwire is $60.00. Just curious on your thoughts on which one to purchase.
Second question is where would I go to purchase 2010 updates. I presently have 2009 NT maps in my steet pilot c550.
Thanks in advance
