very bizarre auto AC HVAC recharge experience

This is my first ever contact with auto HVAC. the reason is I've never had a car with any issue so no need.

Anyway my wife's GM SUV has had a hissing sound that cycles, for at least this year.

Last week, I think it was Wed., it was very hot and humid. So when I drove her car to work, it was probably only 70F at most, and the car was dripping water front and rear (rear evap), so good.

Red Light Camera Ticket Questions

For anyone who has gotten a red light camera ticket:

1. Did you ignore the ticket? If yes, what happened?

2. Did you contest the ticket in court? If yes, then what was the trial procedure and the outcome?

Thank you for any replies.

We're taking time this week for a mid year recognition of Mahoney!

Mahoney has been with us for over 15 years and maintains a whole lot of files.

This week we're highlighting his updates to the Rest Area POI files. For those of us wealthy enough to be able to take road trips this summer, the Rest Area files are essential!

Thanks for all you do for our community, Bill!

Factory Joke Thread – June 2022

This is the official POI Factory Joke thread.

****Note regarding this month's delay in posting of the thread****

I strongly considered discontinuing the POI Factory Joke Thread.

Forum moderation is not easy in general, let alone a joke thread, particularly in a time of extreme political polarization and social disruption. So please be thoughtful in what you chose to share here.

Keeping The Windmill Alive – June, 2022

Perhaps you can post on a new book you're reading, a new hobby you're taking up or about random finds as you finally get around to cleaning out the..., or your most recent adventure?

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

Please keep comments polite.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Memorial Day

Let’s take some time to remember and reflect on the sacrifices that have been made by our men and women in uniform to protect our freedom. Freedom is not free. People have to put their lives on the line to insure that our freedom is protected. Let us remember those individuals today that gave their lives in the service of their country.

Just received an M1 macbook pro

Received as a gift. I've always had windows laptops. And recently I've been using chromebooks. They're perfect because I really just use a web browser.

But the battery of these M1 laptops are astounding. I really wish I could buy a chromebook with battery life as good as this.

finally got new tires

I bought a used car in 2016.

A trick I never would have thought of!

For the internet ads, the new car dealer took the brand new spare tire out of the trunk with brand new alloy rim (at the time, 10 years old), armor all'd it, and mounted in the rear left. Then they took close up pics for the web ads.

This implied new OE tires.

Pre satellite "GPS"

I debated between posting in the joke thread, Other GPS brands, or Welcome/OpenTalk. Here it is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qqnHtH1RAs

Two questions:

-Did you catch the mention of the vehicle's "mileometer," pronounced mile-omm-etter?

-Sussamb, is mileometer still used in the UK?
