Yet another bunch of Microsoft Surfaces don’t work with Win10 version 1803

If you shelled out $3,000 to $4,500 for a Surface Studio, you may be a bit disconcerted to discover that many don’t work with the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, version 1803. Mice and keyboards keep disconnecting.

Maybe this will explain some of this mess: --- FAQ: Microsoft 365 explained

{can you say SaaS?}

Microsoft has bundled together Windows 10, Office 365 and a variety of management tools to create its newest subscription suite, Microsoft 365 (M365). Here's what the bundle includes, how much it costs and what it means for the software developer's future.

If You Can’t See It You Can’t Stop It – Network Firewalls’ Dirty Little Secret

This looks like an ad.

It's got a small test in it and the webcast is somewhat interesting.

On average, 60% of Network traffic is unidentifiable by network firewalls*. Which means ransomware, advanced threats, and active adversaries are happily entering your network. Why? Because every firewall on the market uses application signatures to identify traffic passing through the firewall.

Lots of little Microsoft patches, but nothing for this month’s big bugs — and no Previews

Lots of little Microsoft patches, but nothing for this month’s big bugs — and no Previews

The third Tuesday of the month brought a handful of fixes, but nothing that addresses the Win10 1803 solid-state drive fiasco, or the network clobbering in Windows 7 — and there are no Monthly Rollup Previews.

school bus reds not taken seriously?

Today I observed on City Line Ave. in Phila.

School bus stopped to pick up passengers, yellow lights, then red.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5 cars simply went right by in the left lane.

The sixth car, stopped, with its front bumper lined up with the school bus.

I can't help but wonder if its ignorance, or totally wilful.

Because a red light bus conviction is a mandatory suspension in PA.

Watch out for Gmail’s new Confidential Mode

Watch out for Gmail’s new Confidential Mode

It’s easy and useful, but Google’s new ‘secure email’ is neither secure nor email.

Most email can either be secure or easy to use. You can have one but not both.

That’s why people are so excited about a new feature in Google’s Gmail. It’s called Confidential Mode, and it’s an easy way to make email more private.

Oh Happy Happy Joy Joy - Report Claims Eight New Spectre-Class Vulnerabilities Impact Intel And ARM Processors

The online German computer magazine Heise.de is reporting that eight new Spectre-class vulnerabilities have been discovered.
