Does anyone know the difference between hibernation and power off? I know that hibernation starts up the unit much quicker. Will the battery drain quicker if I do not use the unit for a few weeks and leave the unit to hibernate? Thanks for the answers.

Now that I have been using my DriveLuxe 51 for a while now, I am starting to notice some other little differences between the 3597 and DriveLuxe 51.

When I am en route to a location with the Nuvi 3597 and look for another location near my destination, the 3597 shows how close the new location is to the destination.

GE keeps repopulating my GPS' after removing old, and outdated faves.

How do you delete this file?

There seems to be some interest in county lines. I think this site has been pointed out in the past but I did a search and didn't find it. If you want the lines to appear with the Garmin maps, this site has the transparent maps. It also has transparent topo maps.

I am going to Hungary next week, but for sure, I'm gonna go around that region as well. Could someone say to me if there is a Speed Alert and Redlight (.gpi file) that covers Hungary to download?

I recently upgraded to a Zumo 595LM for my motorcycle.
It has a number of applications on it that I will never use.
Is it possible to delete those applications?

When loading map with GE, how can I load the map to the computer and the Garmin GPS?

I was downloading 2019.10 last night and couldn't figure it. I used Map Updater instead and it's dead easy to do with MU. Just click on options and it's there.

With the latest map upgrade, I've noticed that some RLC alerts show a bright red banner at the top of the screen, while others are the standard grey. Also, the red banners appears a second or so before the "ping", while the grey ones are simultaneous.

Not a big issue, just curious as to why that occurs.

I have a Garmin 60 LMT that recently started acting like someone is always touching the lower left corner of the screen. After a few minutes it will actually cancel my route. Most screen commands won't work because its acting like there is a finger on the screen already. I can use voice commands. After the screen has been on for several hours it will stop doing this.

On Feb 6 Google Earth Pro was auto-updated to 7.3.1.4507. Unfortunately it updates to the 64 bit version. The 64 bit version cannot be enabled with the link to it from BaseCamp (at least on my computers which are all 64 bit).

So I talked to Garmin and they told me that they do not support my C550 because it is outdated. They replaced it with Garmin Drive 50 USA+CAN LMT for free. I only paid shipping $8.00. Now I have the 2019.10 map updates. They told me to properly dispose my old GPS however it still works so I will keep it as a backup.

Has anyone else noticed that at some point after Jan 1, 2018 traffic information is no longer being received by their older devices with FM Traffic only? I have both a Nuvi 760 with an added on lifetime traffic subscription, and a Nuvi 765T, which has lifetime traffic built in.

his Samsung Galaxy S4 - but it is Verizon version and will not connect to Consumer Cellular -so I can't use it as my phone.

Suddenly the unit is not "updating".

I called Garmin support and they attempted 2 remote updates downloads via my PC and they failed as well.

The rep. informed me in order to resolve this issue they would have to charge me $50.00 because I was connecting to their server... WHAT???
Now I'll admit his English was poor but I asked him to repeat it and that's what he told me.

Hey there users of the 51 series, noticed on the Garmin web site for product description of these models that a Smart Phone is required for Traffic Notifications.

Will these units pick up the “normal Garmin Traffic” with the supplied as is boxes unit or the HD Traffic with the GMT 60 cable.......without a smartphone?

Have the Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT and after a complete full charge of the battery, I fully turn off the unit and within a couple a weeks, turn the unit on and the battery is nearly dead.

Anyone else experience this?

I have double checked and made sure they the unit is fully powered down and not in the standby mode.

Since getting my Garmin DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S, the wifi hasn't worked for updating the software. I have been able to update via USB cable. Part of me is considering sending it in for warranty repair and another part of me thinks that is too petty of an issue to send in for service.

What do you folks think? Just keep using it as it is or should I send it in and get it fixed?

I just purchased a Garmin RV 760. I have updated the software and the maps.

I have created a route for a long trip out West and into Canada in a couple of months in RV Trip Wizard. That program allows me to export routes as .csv Files.

Is there any way to upload that route to my new Garmin?

The latest iteration of Google Earth prevents usage of the link in Basecamp from working even if GE is running at the time.

Garmin's solution is to create a kml file in Basecamp, then open it in Google Earth. Its a feature I frequently use so their solution doesn't work well for me.
