New To Me Drivesmart 50

Just received a newly overhauled (refurtbed?) DS50 and have a couple questions.
Which takes priority for traffic between smartlink and built-in traffic receiver?
Is there a way to change voice prompts when navigating?
Thanks in advance.

DS 50

Smartlink will deactivate the FM or HD traffic as far as I know.

Voices: Do you mean changing to a different voice? If so, you can have a total of seven TTS voices plus a few non-TTS voices. Many folks here have a preference for male vs. female voice and a lot of folks here stick with Australian Karen:

Or if you're referring to changing the wakeup phrase:

Select Apps > Voice Command > > Wake Up Phrase.
Enter a new wakeup phrase.
The device indicates the strength of the wakeup phrase as you enter the phrase.

Select Done.

Voice prompts.

I found this on Voice Prompts. Notice the note. "You do not have to read the exact phrase on the screen. You may say an alternative command with the same meaning based on your preference". https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/drivesmart50-60-70/E...

Here is some other Faq's you can also look at. https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?productID=524667&searchQue... .Click on the show more tab to get all 13 of them.

traffic

The built-in FM traffic receiver is the default. When the GPS is paired in bluetooth to the phone, Smartphone Link becomes the traffic, and the built-in traffic is disabled.

When the bluetooth connection with the phone is turned off, the FM traffic receiver is turned on again. It may take several minutes to receive traffic data.

Different voices

I can do it on my 3597, but haven't seen a way on the DS50

From the FAQ mentioned above

With the device attached to the computer and selected, go to the Tools & Content section of Garmin Express, then click the Optional Updates, then Language Files, then English, then Install.

All voices will install, space permitting.

Worked like a charm

Thanks CraigW
