Where To screen missing icons

Not sure how it happened but the Where To page on a Nuvi 2598 somehow is now missing all the icons. Anyone see this happen before? Is there a way to get the default icons back on this page?

Did you customize?
Before trying any of the following, I suggest a full power-down/reboot, and if no success, a hard reset.
Did you ever customize your home screen? If not (and even if you did), you can restore the Factory Defaults as described in the owners manual:

Restoring Settings
You can restore a category of settings or all settings to the factory default values.
Select Settings.
If necessary, select a settings category.
Select > Restore.
You can also manually add shortcuts if that seems easier:

That happen to me on a map update a while back. Just follow the instructions here on this link. https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/odsMH....
You can have a maximum of 36 shortcut icons displaying on the Where To screen.

Restore
Looks like a restore fixed the missing icons. Knew about manually adding icons as that's how I got the "home" icon back. Still not sure how the icons got removed as I absolutely did not remove them. Only thing I've done recently was to add custom POI's to the POI folder using the POI loader. Before that it was the 2019.10 map update.

Thread I started years ago. Seems the missing Where To icons is becoming a common occurrence every time I connect the Nuvi 2598 to it's Garmin DC cig plug power cable and power on the car.
Anyone have any idea what could cause a Nuvi to drop the icons on the Where To page? Could a failing battery be a contributing factor? What about full memory and the use of a microSD card due to the latest map update sizes?

If not, you likely should be. The map sizes for quite some time have exceeded the internal capacity of most nuvi devices. My 2689 workhorse needed a card many years ago.

Missing icons
Yes been using a microSD card for many years now with the map updates being larger than the internal memory. Not sure what is causing the Where-To page icons to disappear forcing a reset to get them back. What ever the cause, its just an annoying thing to deal with periodically when powering on the Nuvi lately.
Device internal storage is at 97% full (202.77 MB free)
SD Card storage is at 27% full (2.87 GB free)

You might try a new or different card
Different device and different "missing" items but someone over on the Garmin forums who reported that roads weren't being displayed replaced the card, reinstalled the map, and viola, all the roads appeared. Reinstallation of the maps prior to the new card had failed.
