Garmin talk

I have four separate poi lists that i would like to load, but the garmin 750 i'm using only "remembers" the latest one i loaded. Anyone else have this problem and know how to correct it. I'm assuming the device allows you to download several different spreadsheets of coordinates.

Anybody having problems with the MP3 player?
When scrolling through songs on the MP3 player, intermittently the GPS will turn itself off.
Does it with a full charge on the battery or even when plugged in.
I had a 750 and it did it. I exchanged it for a 760 and it does the same thing.

I just got a handful of POIs installed successfully and I went out to run some errands and was curious to see how they pop up however nothing showed. For instance, I had to run to Home Depot (had the HD POIs installed) but nothing every came up. I drove by Walmart and the walmart POI didnt pop up.

What did I do wrong? Is there a setting on my Nuvi 350 that I have to turn them on or something?

Does anyone wish to give a newbie some quick tips when creating a csv file. I enter each line manually after I locate the coordinates.This seems like a lot of work and something that my computer should be able to handle.I've been experimenting with the COPY/PASTE function and found some files easier to put together. Any other tips???

I've been using my nuvi 660 for only a few months now. I have downloaded some POI's and saved many gps coordinate locations to my "favorites". I can't find any info about how much built in memory my unit has. If I select an additional file to download that exceeds my units memory will it partially download, not download at all, or erase some of my current data?

Once I already have the POI's in the unit (Garmin 7200), is there a way to set the alert setting per poi? Say truck stops 3miles, Rest Areas 2miles, without have to go back and set them in poi loader?

I have installed Rest Stop POIs and set my Nuvi 260W to sound alerts. Now, two questions:

(1) Does the proximity alert go on automatically as I am driving on a road that has rest stops?

(2) WHow do I establish where the next rest stop is going to be while I am driving along the route (i.e., where and how far away is the rest stop from where I am currently on the road)?

I would appreciate a narrative that will explain in some detail how one make use of a via point while following the Nuvi 260w GPS's instructions to a destination. Right now I do not understand the difference between a VIA point and a selection of a rest stop chosen from the POIs that are in my custom folder. Many thanks.

I have recently purchased my first GPS, it's a Nuvi 760 and started downloading some POI files. For example, I downloaded the Costco store list and used the POI loader to load it to my Garmin. When I access the factory pre-loaded Costco list I found that a new one by my house was missing.

I am using the replacement software for Mapsource for Mac call Bobcat(http://www8.garmin.com/macosx/). This post has a couple purposes. The first is to get more people using Bobcat so that Garmin has more feedback. The other is to start discussion about how it works or doesn't work.

I ordered Garmin Nuvi 760 a few days ago, and received it yesterday. I tried turning it on today, following through the "quick start" guide.

I installed the mount and all. Everything was fine.

Until...

Best Buy had the 760 online for $349. Happy Fathers Day - to me! I was already thinking of upgrading and this special with free shipping tipped the scales. I used In-Store Pickup and got it today. They were $449 on the shelf in the store.

What a difference over the 350! I just really wanted routes. The rest of the stuff were extras. Or so I thought...

Hello, I just came across your yellow speed limit signs on the POI Factory site. They are great! Do you know if it is possible to use them in place of the White mph icon in my garmin nuvi 750 that show up on the left side of the screen while I am driving? If so, how can I do it.

I have a Nuvi 760 and was setting up the FM transmitter.
This site, reviewing the 760, shows an "Auto Tune" button while setting up the FM transmitter....

I also looked at a 760 in Circuit City and it also had this option.
I recently ran web updater and have sw ver 3.00 and I don't have the "Auto Tune" button.

I absolutely love my Garmin unit. The one drawback I have noticed is that the software does not calculate the time travel on Streets or Highways with lights as well as it does on highways.

For those of you with the Nuvi 780, how do you like it? Would you buy that one again? Do you use the MSN feature and if so, is it useful?

I just got my nuvi 760 from Costco the other day.
I can't seem to get the bluetooth to work, with all the features, for me.

The caller ID displays "unknown: and then the number, even though my phone displays the callers name.

I also can't get the text messages to display on the nuvi.

The phone/pocket PC I'm using is an Audiovox VX6700 from Verizon.

When I was loading the Starbucks poi file with poi loader I got a message with an error for line 11,327. I tried it twice and got the same error message. I brought up the file in excel and deleted that line and it loaded fine. The line was missing the Starbucks name.

Just for info purposes in case anyone else runs into the problem.

My Nuvi 760 says Sirf xxxxxx on the splash screen as it starts up, I am not sure if it is really saying it uses a Sirf chipset, or if it uses licensed technology from Sirf to process what Garmin's receiver provides.Does anyone here know?
