Garmin talk

The biggest shortfall of custom POI's is that they currently cannot be combined with the built-in POIs.

I'm sure there is a way for Garmin to program the software so that all POI's can be combined.

Should we start a petition drive to ask Garmin to make this a priority for the next software upgrade?

I'm having trouble loading TOPO 2008 on my nuvi 880. MapSource detects my 8GB microSD card just fine. It even places the 5GB gmasupp.img file on the card. However, the nuvi does not load the map. There are no errors. I've gone to the tools->system->map->map info. There's no entry for my TOPO map.

If ya have any ideas, please help.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 760 and I would like to know if someone can ell me what the difference is between .gpx and .csv files? Is one better than the other?

I could use some help in removing alerts.

I have down loaded some of the POI files from the download contributions page, which were kindly contributed by others. Though, pleased with the POI’s, an alert status was accompanied with some POI files. That is, when close to coffee shops, Deli’s, stores, etc., the alert alarm sounds. This is annoying.

Everytime i try to upload a file to my Garmin Nuvi the poi loader says the folder i have selected does not have any data files in it. Please HELP

Since the 350 now appears in the products being discontinued, I think the 5.60 version might be the last supported update?

Looking for some help. Bought a 4GBHC SD card and put on City navigator europe. My Nuvi is not reading the maps on the sd card. Can anyone help????

Having traveled to Colorado for a few weeks from CA, I notice that the locking up time on my NUVI is much longer. Any reason why and the first time?

Is map source free? Where can I get it?

Has anyone used a Zagg body shield for their Nuvi 780? Their website has one for the 760, but not the 780.... I was under the assumption they were the same unit, the only difference being the traffic receiver.

On my Nuvi 760 it dispalys the speed limit on the map page.
Since I've updated to 2009 maps there are many inaccuracies in the speed limits.
2009 maps show many more secondary road speed limits. 2008 maps only displayed highways.
On a recent trip to Asheville NC is where I found many errors.

These were speed limits that have been the same for many years.

I have searched the discussion threads and FAQ to no avail. Either I don't know how to find an answer or it isn't there. My question is simple. The 550 does not load a new splash screen using ximage it appears. Do I copy a jpeg file to the Garmin root directory and it will be copied to my c550 somehow?

New user of Garmin 780. I have POI's loaded for Home and Rest Areas. When I am not navigating a route, the POI is announced visually and with sound... However when I am actually navigating to a specific location, the POI is announced after the navigation is complete...

Is there a setting I am missing?

Is there any of the Garmain GPS models that have the SPEED field instead of the ARRIVAL field while in Auto Routing? Also showing somewhere the Log. & Lat. of where you are or install them instead of a address.

I would normally apologize for not RTFM, but the 2x5 series has no FM. So I ask.

I have a 760 now and the partner's old 330C finally bit the big one. So it is purchase time. The 670/680/760 are all priced within $20 of each other (unless there is a huge sale somewhere) and one of the features she needs is Street Names spoken and Bluetooth.

I've updated my wife's c340 with everymap on the disc and its on a sd card, the unit see's both maps, should both be checked or use the new version? just wondering about any conflicts.
