Garmin talk

I have the Garmin 885T, the speech Vol is very low. I tried used TTS Voice Editor but I cant get it to work. Can someone tell me how to use the editor? I just went into the Text Editor and it shows me that the vol is set at 99% but its still low.

I just received my 885T and cannot get the Lane Assist to work , anybody know how ?

I loaded a bunch of custom POI's from this site (ex: McDonald's locations) and the associated bmp file using the POI loader from Garmin and when I am on the road, the POI's do not show up on the map. I double checked that they are all loaded in the extras folder. Does anyone know how to get them to show up as I drive?

I just updated the maps in my Nuvi 760 to the new 2010.1 maps..and now all my Recently found and some of my Favorites have a bunch of Chinese Letters in the Titles.
Also it reset my voice to the Default voice and shut off Dr. Nightmare.

I have a Garmin 885T. It seems that my traffic from my 660 works great in the 885T .. What would happen if I installed the MSN in the 885T Would I be able to receive both traffic, I know I would have to change the plug.

I had a TomTom that could not do this and have not found a way for the NUVI. Is there some way to select a bridge, highway or tunnel as a 'navigate to' location? Let's say I'm someplace and want to get to the George Washington Bridge or the Bronx River Parkway. Does not seem to be a way to do this.

Does the Nuvi 680 do the weather alert with the gtm-20 and the ttn traffic service ?

Touchscreen problems are a well known issue with the 765T. But recently I have noticed that the error rate seem to have decreased after I installed a screen protector. Has anyone else found this to be the case?

Just got back from a trip to NYC for work. While there I picked up a Trascend 16gb microsd card and SD card adapter. It's really for my Nokia N95 to store data files, music and Garmin stuff. But I thought I'd load some music up on it and pop it into the NUVI 360. Wow, it works! 16gb of music in the NUVI! Well, actually about 3gb right now, but I will definitely load it up.

I purchased a Garmin 450 to use on my Harley. It was a lot cheaper than the one Harley sells. I added the Harley dealerships as a POI. On the Harley garmin which in appearance is the same as mine they have a category icon that shows up with the rest of them when you turn on your GPS. My dealerships show up under the Extra's category.

My dad has a Nuvi 265WT and all of a sudden, it's giving him a speed alert at 4 MPH. He was looking at the different modes, like pedestrian, car, motorcycle, and set it to pedestrian while he was looking for some family grave sites. Then he set it back to car mode and now he gets an alert when his vehicle speed is 4 MPH.

Does anyone know what is the most current firmware for the Nuvi 680 and also the gtm-20 ?

Has anyone else had an issue with using the internal POI phone numbers in North America?

On my 770, it seems to try dialing a plus sign (+) at the beginning of the phone number for internal POIs. The call won't go through because of it.

My personal phone book entries from my cell phone work fine because they do not have the + stored in front of them.

My Nuvi 200 has 2.20. My 205 came with 2.20 as well, but after installing "American English" voice through WebUpdater, it rolled back to 2.00

2.20 is smaller in size (1.06MB) compared to 2.00(1.16MB).

What are the differences and why did WebUpdater roll it back from what was already installed on the unit by default?

Transferring driving directions to Garmin GPS 760 from Google Maps, It seems like Garmin is adding the United States to the address. This is preventing the Phone Number from appearing in the Favorites listing. Max 3 lines for address and phone number. That pushes the Zip code to the third line leaving no room for Phone Number.
How do I remove the United States so the phone number appears?

Several months ago I purchased the lifetime subscription to the NavTeq traffic service, but my 660 seems to get terrible reception in Northern VA. Has anyone else had any luck with this service?

I just picked up an old-school Garmin StreetPilot ColorMap. Is there anyone who is very familiar with this product, or still using one in their vehicle?

I have some questions with regards to loading POI's and such, and have been unable to find answers online, so far.

I have volume set wide open and can hardly hear turns and streets call out. Granted my hearing is not 100 per cent however my old garmin streetpilot was plenty loud. Is there a sound bite or some way to increase the volume.
