I've been searching the web and forums for a couple days to find out what ALL the keywords words that the NUVI (I recently purchased a NUVI 255w) recognises and responds to in the .csv file naming convention. I've come up with several - TourGuide, redlight, speed. Are there more and is there a proper syntax to use these key words?
I'm new to this and have written individual POIs with associated bmp and wav files. I find this to be way more entertaining than mowing the lawn.
Thanks for any help in advanced
The answer
I think this should answer your questions: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6764
=== Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
You may want to try
looking at the POILoader help file. It's built into the program and lists all the keywords it uses.

Another question..
I've created a GPX file and then I've got 4 .csv files in a file structure
Pointsofinterests
--Personal_Points
I'm putting the 4 .csv files in the Personal_Points folder. I use the POIloader and it loads all the points without issue EXCEPT it appears that the alerts I've added to the .csv files are not working. For example, one of the .csv files is named Home_Redlight.csv. Here is the question, The GPX in the "root" is a TourGuide" file and rather large, the .csv files are in the 1 level down subdirectory, the POIloader is set to "express", is the POIloader overriding my alerts in the .csv ?
I ask is because when I arrive at home it is not giving me any visual or audio alert UNLESS I specifically set my home as my destination. I've tried different syntaxes and I've even erased my trip log. Or is it that my NUVI is so smart it realizes that I still have many years to pay on my mortgage before this address is actually mine and not the banks? Of course I know where I live but I've been playing with my new NUVI (255w) and I'm having fun setting up new .wavs, bmps and what not. By the way, using a siren.wav was not a great idea as I kept pulling over everytime I heard it.
Thanks again and thanks for pointing me in the right direction for the "key words"
Some guidance - maybe slightly misguided
For example, one of the .csv files is named Home_Redlight.csv
The default distance for a red light alert is 1320 feet or 1/4 mile and the default speed for a speed camera is Zero. The only way to change these is by using the manual method of loading POI which allows you to set a distance or speed other than the defaults. Speed cameras can also be individually set by using the @speed in each line.
Probably one of the best write-ups on tips and tricks with these files is done by Gary Hayman on his web site. (Do a search for Nuvi Tricks and it should pop up - or search for Gary Hayman.)
I load my files using the manual setting only because I find it easier than converting them to GPX and setting speed and proximity for the individual files through the search and replace function. My default speed for speed cameras is 25 MPH and I use 700 feet for red light cameras. The other thing that can hamper your unit is having too many alerts set. Conflicting alerts may cause one to be overridden with another or even combined if you are using the default tones. In total, I think I set alerts on about 4 files. The 2 camera files, rest areas and possibly truck stops for when I travel. Most have icons, and a lot have the sound file but they are not active.
