Garmin talk

When you download favorites to the unit (1390T) with Mapsource, it appears that all photo associations are lost. Is there any way to retain them. I don't see anything in Mapsource to associate a jpg file to the favorite.

We have just purchased a Nuvi 1490T and think that it is great. Now we want to get a new phone but the compatability list as stated in other posts is not kept up to date and what's more it only seems to have US models on the list.

Wife & I noticed that for the first time, we're seeing train tracks in the maps. We've had V4.70, V4.80 and V4.90 with the latest maps, but it's only in V4.90 where we're seeing train tracks...

I understand that the internal memory of the 200 will not be enough for the new maps and some region(s) will have to go on an SD card. Will the map download process give me a choice of which region I want in internal memory and which I want on the card? How automatic is this? Is map access speed from the card comparable to that from internal memory?

Is there a way that i can tell if i downloaded Campground & RV Park,I saved it in my pictures i had a folder by itself but it wasn't there when i downloaded it,but i did iy anyway,It said it downloaded 5000 something.I'am i suppose to create a POI FILE FIRST.I have a garmin 765T,Thanks

I downloaded the red light camera beta file. It is the "frosting on the cake" of the standard POI and I hope it quickly becomes the norm. The intersection name rather than the standard alert greatly improves the function.

I was comparing my 780 (same detail, etc. as 760) alongside my new 765T I got from Costco last week, and definitely noticed a slight loss of detail at comparable settings. Hi I have a nuvi 1490t and I have done all the updates.
Freezing problem better now (I Hope).

But I live in a small town in Indiana I drive 30 miles to work on an State hiway there are many intersecting county roads the nuvi shows them all sometimes then on the way home wont show any.Or sometimes wont show any on the way.

Just wondering as sometimes newer is not better, and I remember when the 660 was new, it would power off for no reason when on battery power. But the 780's power going into the side rather than bottom is a nice feature, and the suction cup seems more effective.

Hard to follow all their models, a friend got a 1390T? Can anyone explain the newer models in a nutshell?

Yesterday I hooked the 855 to the laptop and used EasyGPS to load some favorites, did nothing else whatsoever, put the 855 in the car, and had it route me to an address. All of a sudden I had a new voice. It changed from Jack, what I normally use, to one of the female voices. I went into the menus and changed it back.

I have a Garmin 855, I read that it is compatible with mapsource.

Anyone else NOT receiving traffic from Garmin today? I'm in Portland, OR and have a 1390t. No little green/yellow/red circle coming up on the screen.

If you plan to visit Costa Rica you have 2 GPS options for routing. You can either rent a Garmin GPS at the car rental company for $10.00 per day or you can buy a Costa
Rica map for your Garmin for $150.00. You need a GPS since the Costa Rican people don't use house numbers for directions, they use landmarks or POI for reference.

I rent cars periodically. I was thinking about picking up a nüvi 1490t (refurb) for such occasions.

It kind of reminds me of my old StreetPilot but in a smaller package. I like:
- Multiple point routing
- FM Traffic

I've read some people having reliability issues and was wondering what the general take was from those who own them.

OK....so I get the concept....but not sure why it's there...all this feature really does is link up with other users to see where they are at....right???

is anyone using this function??? Maybe I am missing the boat on this one - but I don't think so....

Hello all been contemplating about buying a new map for my Nuvi 350 is buying the map worth it as I have seen and heard that when you buy these maps they are already 1 to 2 years old. Is it still worth buying the maps?

Anyone have issues with their Garmin FM Traffic receiver? I am getting an error message that says check FM Traffic Receiver intermittently. I just subscribed to the service and I don't think it is working because of the receiver.

Any one ever loose your voice guidence and phone ability. I did an update to see if that would fix it, nada.Garmin wants 110.00 to repair. May have to bite the bullet. It has 2010 maps and msn on it. I use it alot and like the hands free phone.
