deleted all files on garmin

copy them to the Garmin drive.

He means reverse the process you used to get a copy onto your PC.

Drag and drop them, folders and all, onto the "mass storage" device represented as the GPS.

You can do that from the device reprenting the SD card or from the copy on your PC.

There might not BE a Garmin drive.....if he also deleted all of the operating system or the USB driver.

Maybe those files are "protected" on newer models but on the older ones they weren't and what he described was called turning it into a "brick".

this is what happens when a person tries to tweek a gps. the files are there for a reason. extra maps and poi can be stored and read from a sd card

the "system"files are not protected on this series of GPS, most likely you now have a very nice paper weight, call Gar-min to confirm this!

What are "all files"? The whole OS, or just POI's, or maps, or?

I sent you the Garmin USB drivers, maybe they will allow you to see the Garmin drive.

I did something like that to my Nuvi 1390T.

If I put the folder structure back I was able to go to Garmin Web Updater and it put back alot of the vehicles, voices (Even the ones in my head ) Keyboards and a bunch of stuff, BUT NOT ALL.

The rest of it I copied back onto the unit once I had somewhat of a stable platforum, then I re thined it down to English and USA keyboards, etc.

this mean I did backup -gmapprom .poi,vehicle , voice , garmin plugin , gpx etc.

I still have not done that
Think I must do it soon or I may make a brick also
