I'm at a loss..I have a765t..got the POI loader..I've downloaded files into a separate file on my desktop..downloaded them onto my gps (said successful)found them where they should be..good..then I downloaded some more..however..the ones I previously downloaded are not in there, just the new ones..I've done this several times, with the same results..am I doing something wrong?
thanks,
Fran
You have to load them all at
You have to load them all at one time.Every time you run poiloader it overwrites the existing ones.

Wonderful! thank you very much! will I have to download them all again every time I want to add something new?
Every time
Every time
Just keep the old ones

Create a directory on your computer hard drive and just keep them there. Then you just need to add new POIs to this directory when you find something new--or when an existing POI has an update, you just need to download it to replace the old one.
Then run POI Loader and it'll load all the POI files (and icons and audio, if you have any there, too) into your GPS. There won't be a need to redownload to your computer each time since they'll be there from your previous update, but you will load all files from the computer to the GPS each time you make an addition or change.
rename method

One method to get around it is by using the rename method. That works well for files you don't have to update a lot see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/8779 .

I use a slightly different
I use a slightly different renaming method. Instead of loading poi.gpi alert / tourguide files to nuvi, I select 'save to custom folder' option in POI Loader and save it to the same folder as the source files. I then rename poi.gpi file to Rest Area poi.gpi for example and copy to my nuvi. This keeps a copy on pc and I don't have to worry about erasing a very large poi.gpi on nuvi.
