I have tried for the past two days to connect to the Map Update on the Garmin site. My computer reconnizes the GPS, I can get a directory of files etc. However, the Garmin site just keeps on showing that it is looking for my unit....left it going for over an hour and it still never connected! What am I doing wrong??

I believe this topic was discussed some time ago and thought that Garmin had fixed the issue. But, every so often, I'll get a chirping noise with the voice commands. At times, it will continue with the noise until I turn the unit off. I have been using "Karen" as the voice. I have checked the updates for the voices and mine is up to date. Anybody else have this issue?

I recently purchased one of these things based on reviews, they should also link to the problems I think but anyway. I am on my 2nd unit in 2 weeks finding both to have the same issues.

Upon further research it seems other brands and models have their own issues and I feel it is what you're prepared to live with as to which one you end up with.

Well, we’re back to the same @#$% thing with this unit.
Downloaded the wave files (as suggested) & put them on the unit, along with the Red Light Cameras and Speed Cameras and Rest Areas Combined.
Put them in in the Manual mode with the POI loader, however, they don`t show up under ``Proximity Points``.

I just bought a 265WT and updated everything. Had to go to Baton Rouge yesterday and the traffic was back up and slow moving I did not get any traffic reports on gps. It was enabled and power cord was plugged it that had antenna for traffic info. Is this normal are maybe there was on traffic reports in Baton Rouge

I recently purchased a micro SD card 4G and loaded some POI's on it. The GPS doesn't see to recognize it. I checked in my extra's folder and could only find files that I loaded directly to the unit. Help please.

I would like to have Bluetooth and lifetime maps. Speak street names and fit in my shirt pocket. Anyone have a favorite?

When you zoom out and then scroll to a different part of the continent (lets say California). If you try to zoom in on that part the map goes back to the area that you originated from. On my 265WT I used to be able to go to any part of NA and then zoom into it. Any suggestions?

Hi Experts,
I got GPS map updates for 2010 from Garmin for India. Is there any way that I can convert those India maps to load on a Magellan Maestro 3225 (it has US & Canada maps on it right now) ? I don't have the Garmin GPS anymore. ANy other thoughts ?

When you search for a POI by spelling it, it caches in the last recently typed places (yellow folder on the left). Is there a way to clear this list without doing a master resest? There seems to be a way to clear everything else but this (recently found, trip log, max. speed, etc.).

What is the purpose of the pictures in the Garmin 1300? What size picture can be downloaded?

Away for a few days and on day two my OH was setting up the nuvi 1340 as we headed down the street. Went over a bump and one of the security numbers was entered incorrectly and we were unable to use the system for the rest of the trip. Is it correct that you only have one try to enter the security number before you are locked out?

i am still wondering why garmin won't put in a back button so you can reverse your route. most of the time when you return to where you started from, the gps takes you back a different way.

We've been using a Garmin 260 for several years with no problems. The only additional function that would be very useful is the ability to set a route in Google map and upload it to the unit. Found a new 765 for $200 and it supports routes. Is $200 a fair price considering it's a little older technology?

I like Garmin but three of my units have required a repair where the power cable connects. Anyone else have those problems?

Is there any way to remove POI's from the GARMIN factory installed POI list? For example, BP gas stations.

This is not intended to be a debate on BP, but I am sure you get the drift.

I cannot figure out how to get to the last message of a very long post without having to go to the next page and scrolling to the bottom. Let me explain: If, say, a post has 90 replies and when I logon it shows that there are 5 new ones since the last time I looked. If I click on 5 new it just takes me to the first page.
