You may want to give

You may want to give TurboCCC Voice editor a try.Look at voice parameter and play around with the rate.Make sure to write down your present setting first. Also good to change some of the voice commands too.Like re-calculating. http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/TTSVoiceEditor

265WT

I have lost all sound at times restarting engine but as others have stated, simple off and on resets the unit. Remember the unit is nothing more than a computer hard drive and may on occasion, act as such. Ghost will always haunt this type of equipment.

Thanks

Thanks for all the feedback. I've just learned to unplug the unit before starting the car.

Just a thought.

Is the socket that you plug into live even when the ignition is turned off? The one on my Hyundai switches off when the keys are removed but the one in my Chevy Cobalt is "live"all the time.
This problem has happened to me in the Cobalt but never in the Hyundai. I think as I turn the ignition on in my Cobalt the socket goes dead momentarily untill the engine starts to run, so it is just like switching your computer on, then off, then back on again very quickly.

I have a problem with the sound going off on the 1490T also. I've had it for several months with no problems with the sound or bluetooth connecting to the iphone 4. But after the most recent update from garmin, the sound problems and bluetooth connection appears. Turning the garmin off then back on solved the sound problem but not the bluetooth connection problem. Does anybody have a solution? Love the large 5" screen!
