Garmin talk

Just got the Garmin Nuvi 2597.Maybe someone can answer this question for me. I am running Windows 8 and when I connect the 2597 to the computer I don't get the icon on lower right of screen for the safe dis-connect.

This week coming and going on the George Washing Bridge and each time my Nuvi40 seemed to go brain dead. Coming back,instead of sending me to 95 north it took me off the path and to a roundabout route telling me to stay to the left. I decided to follow the signs and go right instead of listening to Sam. Most of the trip my device worked well except for this one glitch.

I know that there has been quite a bit of discussion in the past about suction cup mounts, bean bag mounts, and more recently the air vent mount.

Will the 2014 maps fit on my Nuvi 660?

I just purchased a mount for the Garmin550C fishfinder but can't figure out how to secure the mount to the boat. There are three screwholes on\in the base but the base is in two parts and I can't get them separated. That is if they do come apart. Otherwise, how is it screwed\secured to the boat.

I just received my 3490lmt and have a question. Are the POI icons suppposed to display on the map? Thanks.

I've done some searching on the web and in gps forums, but can't find a definitive answer whether or not I can import to my nuvi 260w routes created in BaseCamp. (I originally built a route in BC, exported it to my nuvi, received the message that it was a successful export, but can't find it on the nuvi.)

Does anyone have information to add to, or resolve, my quandary?

I recently got a new 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan. And it has the UConnect 430N. Does anyone know how to upload POIs into this nav system? All I know is that it has the Garmin software. Any help is appreciated.

Just returned from New Orleans...took the 1490...other than showing me driving in the weeds half a dozen times and sending me on some r3tarded routes...it was okay...except in NOLA proper...simply would not catch a signal...recalculating over and over when it did...firmware is up to date ... Happened in no other city...maps are 2011.something but that shouldn't matter.

I ran all my POI Files thru the POI Loader and when I checked my Customized POI's on my Garmin nuvi 2555LMT Device, only about half of them were listed BUT when I checked my SD Card (I store my POI Files there) all Poi Files were listed on the SD card BUT I can';r see them on my Device, Kan anyone Shed Sum Lite, Thanx..(and to think, I went to College for 4 Years, just to Learn how to Spell)

does anyone have a goldwing icon or vehicle i can use on my garmin?

I am in need of help.. I just had my garmin replaced nuvi 50lm and on my old garmin had the POI for the red light camera or proximity points already installed on it. This one doesn't have it. Should I return the unit because I can't find the free POI for the this.

As a result of a forthcoming Road Closure to my cottage, I decided to play with Basecamp and enter a Custom Avoidance, to find a new route.

I knew I could do this with Mapsource and but for the life of me, I could not find anyway of doing this in Basecamp. I put avoidance in the Help search and nothing comes up. I played with Routing Options and I could find nothing.

Hopefully, this hasn't already been mentioned. If so, I just missed it. I don't use Garmin Express right now but from this Garmin faq below, it certainly appears that the new Garmin Express can finally install map updates to a computer. Hopefully the computer installation can be seen by the computer's Mapsource or BaseCamp software.

I know that this has been discussed here in the past, but I am just looking for any recent experienced from fellow members in this regard. I just bought a used Garmin Nuvi, but when I went to register it, I found out that it has already been registered.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 now and I am picking up another used Garmin Nuvi 360 very soon. Anyway, one of these will likely get installed in my Chevrolet Silverado that my oldest son drives. If I decide to transfer his music from the computer to the Nuvi 350/360, how well will this work in the vehicle?

I've been happy with my Garmin c340. I just got a Garmin c580 which has the same comfortable user interface and is easier to manage with my PC.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to export all my saved Favorites from my c340, so I can import them into my c580?
