Garmin talk

Somewhere this afternoon I read something that mentioned that the Garmin Monterra has been cancelled. I checked the Garmin US website and I do see it listed as a previous model? Is that a recent change? Does anybody happen to know if that is the end of the line for Android based Garmin handheld GPS devices?

Suddenly, my Dezl 770 when plugged in to the car charge cable, or the USB cable to the computer, the Display mode goes to night, 1%. Unplugged, it goes back bright. No matter what time it is.

Settings, Color Auto
Brightness, if the cord is plugged in, it asks for the Garmin cable to change the brightness function and the Brightness is stuck at 1%. Unplugged it goes to whatever you set it to.

I tried this procedure on a Garmin Nuvi 1370T. I updated the North American map. I was using a friend's high speed data connection and only wanted to download the install files. I clicked on the button to update the installed maps. I hibernated the computer after the point where it said the download of the installation files finished; and the building map set had finished.

Just want to run this past the audience to see if this would work.

I drive to Mexico every fall and have all my route way-points on my Garmin.

Now this year a friend who has not driven there for years wants to use my way-points.

The unit was updated about 3 wks ago, firmware and map....

Is there anything in particular about DC, that would cause it to take minutes to recalculate? Have never seen it act like that....

My oldest son recently got a used Garmin Nuvi 50LM, but no mounting bracket. I checked at Garmin.com and it looks like the part number is 010-11765-02. https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/prod101686.html I am just trying to determine where I should buy this from. Some Ebay dealers show a very low price, but some on-line reviews claim that some are not genuine Garmin parts and to be wary.

I am trying to enter a Alphanumeric address in to my Garmin Nuvi 2729 LMT, just can not get it. I do understand you can enter the coordinates if you have them but sometimes you just have the address. this is an example of a address I am trying to enter. S63 W16147 College Ave, Muskego, WI 53150.
I have tried to enter it like S63W16147 but the GPS is just confused. Any help would be nice.

Just added a new Garmin GPS to the stable this weekend, but this one had a rather unique accessory : a motorcycle.

How do you set your activity profile in Base Camp where the profile activity is driving by default?

Every time I create a route and look at the directions I get hiking as the default. I got to be missing something,

This is probably a silly question, but Garmin advertises some of their models as "not relying on cellular signals" How does that differ from other models that do not make this claim? I'm buying someone who lives in an area with very spotty cellular reception a GPS as a gift and am unsure whether or not this would be an advantage. I thought ALL GPS units relied on satellites.

I have a new Garmin 70 LMT to replace my 2798 LMT custom install in my dashboard with fascia. In the 2798 model I could have a usb cable routed through my glove box for updates from the laptop while also having the charger / FM traffic receiver connected in a separate port. (That model used micro usb instead of the slightly larger mini but regardless...).

I just got a DriveSmart 60LMTHD, how can we make a full backup because the system file are not shown as with the other GPS. The DriveSmart is not shown as a Drive like the other GPS were. Only secondary files are shown.

I say "almost" because I blew $6.99 back for Priority Mail.

I have been watching the 2797 refurb (and others) on Amazon for months. The VA just a bunch of $$ they owed me after an audit, so I jumped.

my ( refurbished ) 2757 started acting up, kept rebooting at main screen or when touching view map icon . I just did hard reset where it asked me us , English lang , so on . it seemed to start right up without previous problems . was low on battery so I have it charging now . anyone else with this problem . I just updated with new software and maps .

Hi. I am new to this whole gps thing. My wife and I are getting older and would to take some driving trips to see the country. I found this forum (which I like very much) and followed it for a while until I made up my mind about which gps to buy. I bought a Garmin 2589lmthd because it seemed to have all the features I wanted and could afford. OK so now the problem.

I have a question regarding my nuvi 3597 and memory space!

I tried to do an update of some (not the maps) which don't complete! I get a message stating that "INTERNAL STORAGE IS ALMOST FULL. YOU MAY WANT TO PURCHASE A MEMORY CARD FOR THIS DEVICE TO ENSURE SUFFICIENT SPACE FOR FUTURE UPDATES"!

I DO have a memory card installed in the 3597! My stats are as follows.......

I am a total dummy when it comes to POIs and my Garmin. I have a Garmin nuvi 3597! A while ago, I loaded POI files into the 3597.

Is there a way to delete ALL of the POI files from the 3597 that I have loaded in the past, so I can start fresh?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

In addition to taking his wife and my Garmin to Disney World, he also took my grandkids.

All I got was his darn dog for the next 10 days ... walk, urinate, defecate, pick it up ... repeat as needed, rain or shine, day or night.

Pretty much the dog and I do the same thing ... except she won't pick up after me.

I have the redlight camera poi seetup as a tourguide with audio and I get nothing. I have seen one red light camera image but that is it. I installed the sox.exe file in the garmin dictory, I am using windows 7. I have also tried the trial version of the garmain red light camera poi and I get no audio no indication that I have approached a red light camera.
