No Data Available

This just popped up on the Nuvi 765T when I press "Where To" and then press address or points of interest, the new update map is on a sd card. Any thoughts or fixes for this or its time to bury the unit.
Thanks

I got this on a much newer

I got this on a much newer model Dezl 770 after I had deleted some files. A reinstall of the map cured it.

Didn't work for me, I have an email to Garmin support lets see what they say.

No Data Available

Try re-booting the GPS.

Also

Make sure the card is inserted correctly. What shows in Tools, Settings, Maps, MapInfo?

If the map doesn't show there either the card isn't inserted properly or it's faulty or the nuvi is smile

No Data Available

Thank you for all your responses. The card is inserted correctly it shows and checked in map info, did a rest and Garmin response was the same. The only thing left to do is format the unit and reinstall all the files, unfortunately I lost the backup I made due to a computer crash. I have responded back to Garmin Support lets see what they say other then that a replacement is in the horizon still using a 2597LMT this unit my wife was using.

Just to be sure

Just to be sure, can you confirm that your map is all of North America—and if not, that the area you're doing a Search and seeing a No Data response, is from a part of the map you do have installed?

A No Data response is typically seen if the Map is not checked in the nuvi, or if the nuvi has only a part of North America and a search is done in an area not part of the loaded map subset.

DO NOT FORMAT THE UNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT FORMAT THE UNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! This will delete the operating system and it's virtually impossible to reinstall it.

Previously when I was ready

Previously when I was ready to toss my gps for similar problems, after a hard reset didnt work, instead, I copied every file off it to my PC (gotta set file options to display all files, system, hidden, etc, and view all extensions), then formatted the GPS drive, and copied back the files and it worked!

I

I agree and with the 765 series you don't even need to make changes to display all system and hidden files but insuring that extensions are visible should certainly be done.

A thought....

Whenever I try to put in an address or POI that is in a different state than what is listed at the top of the screen, I get this message.

To address, I change the state to the state where the address is located. This usually resolves this type of problem for me.

Thanks

No Map Data Available & Garmin Express software not recognize

When encountering errors such as "No Map Data Available" and Garmin Express does not recognize your Garmin nuvi, check to see if your Garmin nuvi is out of storage space from your computer. Solution related to the fact that when brought up as a drive in windows(like E:) there were 0 bytes free space on the Garmin nuvi. To get Garmin Express to recognize a unit which is full, do a search on the Windows Drive (E:) for "gmap" then choose "Open file location" This will get into the hidden ".system" directory. From there, delete the largest file map, such as "gmapprom" (or move this file to your Pc's hard drive). Afterward, reboot your computer to have Garmin Express software recognize your Garmin nuvi. On older units, also purchase a microSDHC card to be able to store the newest maps, such as the US & Canada 2.6Gb map file, which will not fit on the internal unit alone. The Garmin Express software will recognize 4Gb to 32Gb microSDHC Class 10 or UHS-I cards formatted to FAT32 and install the newest maps automatically to them. Some have reported that 4Gb cards are not large enough. I had used a 16Gb SanDisk Ultra PLUS UHS-I card successfully on my Garmin nuvi 1450LMT.
