Garmin Map Update Watch

I thought I was the only one.

Lol. On the computers, to keep ssd wear down, I use a ramdisk for browser and system cache. This desktop has plenty of ram (64gb), so a 3gb ramdisk is doesn't cut into usable ram too much.

After 3 years, TBW is around 5TB.

I logged in just to see if there had been an update and lo and behold there was one yesterday, just in time for an upcoming trip.

First time in a long while that I missed the “Waiting” thread!!

Bump while we wait for new maps.

Holiday travel coming up. New maps would be great.

I am interested in seeing the new map. So far a lot of road changes in my neighborhood are not in the new maps.

I’m looking for next update to see what cornfield, or cow pasture dirt road is suddenly determined to be a paved road!

8 years ago it was the farmer dynamiting a bridge over a creek, that took a while (and a couple tow trucks to extract delivery trucks).. Now it’s a cornfield, cow pasture, and corral…

I don't update very often, just enough to keep the subscription active as I hardly use the nuvi anymore. Usually use the phone.

According to the notes, this is a useless update. We'll see what comes out next apr/may.

Hoping the next update fixes all the things that don't work as they should. Specifically, the next road ahead feature.. it's hit and mostly miss.

Driving around nyc and drove through a construction zone to the Holland Tunnel. My unit told me I was driving the wrong way. A construction zone which was one way is now two ways. Also, the FDR construction zone ramps change daily. It is time for a map update.

How would a map update help for daily construction changes?
