Microsoft Preview updates.
I normally don't install the optional Windows "Preview" updates. I think I will wait until Microsoft offers the production version as an automatic update.

I won't install the intel or HP updates
Unless it will fix a problem I am dealing with. Why take the chance of breaking something that works. And I won't install the W10 updates right away either.

Deal with the OEM for updates

Agree, with one caveat...I won't download them via a connection to Microsoft. Intel for instance has its own Driver & Support Assistant that will actually look at your specific PC and then make appropriate recommendations. The Intel assistant can be found at
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver...
I would suspect HP has something similar. I have a Dell and again it connects to a Dell website using a utility. The website takes an inventory and then makes specific recommendations for exactly my machine.

Correct John. I only install from OEM and not MS
