RV 760 Where are my saved routes?

I just bought a RV760 and transferred files from my old Nuvi750 using Garmin Express. Where are the routes located on the 760 (assuming they were transferred)?

Apps / Trip Planner

On most newer devices they are on the Apps menu under Trip Planner.

If you follow the procedures shown in http://goo.gl/kiiXt8 pay particular attention to this section of them:

The import will automatically begin, but no message will appear on the device indicating that the import is happening and may take several minutes to import the trips. Once the import is complete, all transferred routes will be displayed under a category called Unscheduled or Imported Trips in the Trip Planner.1 Until the trip(s) show up in Trip Planner, do not turn off the device or connect it to a computer.

Thanks for the replies--found the routes! Since you guys did such a great job, help me find the downloaded POI files that (hopefully) transferred from the Nuvi.

Also, when I bought my first Garmin, I received a free DVD for City Navigator, which is now woefully out of date. How do I update the maps for use with BaseCamp? Do I have to buy an update?

Did you ...

.... Copy your custom POIs across? Express won't do that for you.

As for BaseCamp, when you update the maps on your new device there is an option in Express to download the maps to your PC for BC to use.

Ah HA!

So here's where the Garmin RV model users are lurking!

Just got a RV660 myself and am still exploring it. Taken one trip with it in the RV and am liking it way more than my old 765T. Haven't messed with the stored routes/trips just yet but will shortly as I'm planning a trip from MD to AK in June-July.

I was about to send the 660 back and go with a Rand McNally because I wanted to add 1 or 2 exterior side viewing cameras but all the exterior Garmin cams give a reversed view. Turns out RM is similar so I stuck with Garmin.

If anyone starts playing with cameras on their RV units, start a thread or give me a shout, ok?

Map update

"How do I update the maps for use with BaseCamp? Do I have to buy an update"?

Your unit should have lifetime maps https://goo.gl/nlQMQV . Run Garmin Express and it will do the map update http://software.garmin.com/en-US/express.html .In case you have problems with your custom pois see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 .Video version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fhhb5FPyLW0 and other videos http://www.poi-factory.com/node/45601

Depends

For the avoidance of any doubt it may be that the OPs maps are up to date. In that case Express will not be able to update BC until the next update is issued by Garmin.

Map update

Correct but running express will verify it is up to date.Plus show any other updates needed. He also can go to the device settings and check latest map update.

Backup Cameras

There have been several threads here about Garmin backup cameras that you might find helpful:

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/44802

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/45366

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/44560

Garmin’s BC30 Camera is compatible with your RV660 and will allow the installation of up to 4 cameras for multiple viewing angles.

Thanx

Thanks bdhsfz6. I'll check them out.

I did a search a few weeks ago & hadn't seen much (that I recall, anyway!).

edit- I looked at the threads, and the others that link from them. None really point out that the BC30 (and 20 I guess?) are "backup" cameras, and as such they and any additional "backup" cams will likely display a "reverse" image (left to right) and might be confusing when used as a "side view" camera. So far that's speculation on my part, but I bought two BC 30's with my RV660 and haven't yet experimented with them. Garmin tech support agreed with that speculation & also confirmed that there is nothing in the RV660 firmware to reverse the image, only the ability to turn off the backup guide lines. Their new "baby cam" is wireless and displays normally, but that's an interior device. I submitted a Garmin product suggestion to add image reversing into the firmware, but even if they think it's a good idea there's no telling when it may actually happen. I may start a new thread here after I get tinkering with my BC30's. At least now I know who the Garmin RVers here are.. watch out! lol

Thanks for all the replies.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll go back to Garmin Express to update the maps on the computer. Apparently, none of the custom POIs transferred, as I get the Learn More option.

Good luck.

A Crude Way to Compensate

The reverse image of the BC30 is indeed an issue when using it for side viewing. To compensate for this, I mounted the BC30 on the inside edge of my side rearview mirror housing with the camera FACING the mirror. This reverses the image and the wide angle camera lens gives much better coverage of the side blind spot.

It’s a crude modification at best and the image is somewhat skewed but it works fairly well for me when pulling my large trailer. Hopefully, Garmin will provide a software fix in the near future.

Going forward, your suggestion of starting a new thread is a good one instead of continuing to hijack the OP’s original post.
