The gpx file will work as well as the csv file. Just use Poiloader like you would for a csv file.

Converting .gpx to .csv using Extra POI Editor is quite easy to do and would be well worth learning how to do yourself.

Downloading and Installing EPE {G}
Configuring EPE {G}

By the way, do you want Holiday Inn or only Holiday Inn Express?

See

See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6203 for the advantages of using gpx files.

You may want to look at this also if you have alerts in mind. http://www.poi-factory.com/node/28521

What kind of error did you get when using Poiloader to load the gpx file? Also any chance you are using a Mac computer?

Will my automotive device display POI icons on the map?

Most automotive devices will only display icons on the map for your saved Favorites or custom Points of Interest (POI) files that you may have installed. To view the custom POI icons, you will need to zoom in the map to 200 feet or closer. The preloaded points of interest (restaurants, hotels, attractions, etc.) will not display icons on the map if they are not also saved favorites.

The device will show the POI icons on the map when it has started moving or is in an active route.

POI icons will NOT display on the map if your map view is set to either North Up or Track Up.

The zumo 350, zumo 390, dezl 760, RV 760, and nuvi 2405, 2407, 2408, 2505, 2507, 2508, 2707, 2708, 3400, 3500, 3507, and 3508 series devices will only display POI icons when you have that map layer selected. For more information on map layers, view the article What are map layers and how do I use them on my automotive device?

Icon

If you want an Icon to appear, you can download one from the same page where you got the .gpx file
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6889

You need to make sure that certain settings on your computer are correct by following the instructions at
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/30393

Once you are sure the settings on your PC are correct, then you would make the name of the Icon file you download the same on the left side of the .bmp extension as the .gpx file [which would be "Holiday Inn" (without the quotes)].

The name of the .gpx file and the .bmp file must be the same for POI Loader to recognize it. None of the names of .bmp files you can download from from the Holiday Inn POI page will likely be "Holiday Inn" (they might include a number, for example) unless you decide to change the name to "Holiday Inn" at the time of download.

POI double download any problem to the Garmin device

download what?

Are you asking what would happen if you download the same file twice or run POI Loader twice?

If you download a file twice before running POI Loader, you will have two files but one will have a (2) appended to the name. The (2) will put a speed alert of 2 units to all locations. If the file is in two different folders, then you will just have the poi in two categories.
