Conversion confusion

Can anyone explain when I download a POI file from here, whether it's a GPX or OV2, once I convert it to CSV using this site
http://www.gps-data-team.com/convert.php
often times the CSV file is then corrupted? For example, some GPS locations may be omitted or the text description is changed/omitted.
Sorry if this question has been asked before but I did do a search, although not a long one. Thanks for the help.
Use Extra POI Editor to do
Use Extra POI Editor to do your conversion instead. But if you ask me why it's not working on the site you're using, I couldn't tell you with certainty. I would say it's likely the site's conversion script is bugged.

The POI Editor was on my "to do" list today to acquire. Looks like I'll be able to solve several problems at once with a small purchase.
Amazing GPS: I once was lost but now am found.
Its probably what you are trying to convert from/to.
An OV2 file is only 2 or 3 columns (I forget exactly and I know I will be corrected). A GPX file can contain a lot of information including phone for blue tooth. If the GPX file has a lot of information in it, then you will lose a lot when you convert to csv.
Is there a reason you are converting it to csv? I ask because a gpx file can be used in the garmin as is and needs no conversion.
As for cost, there is no cost for EPE (extra poi editor).

What I'm doing
I like to convert to csv so that I can read the GPS locations and then add those locations to Google Earth.
I haven't found a way to view the coordinates of a POI location on my TomTom.
Also I may wish to download a GPX POI, convert to CSV so I can view it on my computer, then tweak it slightly before converting it to OV2 and using it in my TT.

EPE will be your best choice. You can do all the conversions you want with that program. Keep in mind that you will lose a lot of data that is in GPX as you convert to CSV. Even more will be lost when you go to OV2 for the Tom Tom. The required data (latitude and longitude) will still be there.

EPE is free
EPE is free and once you get familiar with it, you will use it in place of a lot of other methods for conversion.

Vito, you may find this useful...

That should solve your issue.
