Our 2025 vehicle came with 3 mos free XM, then the next 3 mos was $2 plus tax equals $2.12.
The 2011 vehicle that we no longer have, had, and has, a $2.99/mo offer, but, it is NOT transferable to another radio.
The XM was expiring and going to renew at $28.98 plus royalty and taxes, and they are all going up some $2 and change per month.
that's a hall and oates ICGFT.
So I chat with Harmony stating that I want to cancel, and mentioned our other vehicle has a $2.99/mo offer.
Harmony basically makes 3 counter offers--$7.99/mo, $6.06/mo (where this comes from I dunno), and $5.99/mo, then says sorry can't match $3 do you want to proceed to cancel.
I think we all have now seen that AI can do an awful lot that humans do, but AI has no feelings, which is actually good for business. imho if I had talked to a human we'd be in at $2.99/mo. But not with AI.
Well, at least one car still has it for life.
As I've mentioned here, a free Verizon iPhone 16 Pro, free monthly, and $200 gift card, was not actually free. The "free" has monthly surcharges and economic adjustments totaling around $7/mo. And seems all the services are catching on to applying a non negotiable fee across all customers. Sorta like when you buy a new car and some dealers have lots of bogus fees, some have 1 or 2, but all have them.
Our 2025 car had a $499 doc fee and we know that's bogus and for the most part non negotiable (the way around it is to ask for $499 more than you really wanted off, that can be done). My dad is the only person I know who had the dealer remove all the fees including registration (they wanted the vehicle out the door--he said he'll diy). When we got our 2025 that's only the 2nd time in my life I've seen the MSO. Back in the 80's people kept that and drove with dealer tags so that the vehicle could be sold as new and "never registered" even though it had 5000 miles lol
I am not a fan of AI, then again, I'm the old man yelling at clouds....
