You won't find a poi for just 1 location.

It could be in 1 of the hotel/motel/resort poi files though.

with just about any truck stop. CB dealers are getting very few and far between since the fad died about 30 years ago. I turned mine off and it ended up in the trash 20 years ago because off all the trash talk and profanity.

I was looking for repair shops, not just dealers. I agree about the profanity. I still use a CB for my job, locally driving a tri-axle dump truck. Asphalt plants, quarries, we use the CB to talk to the scale house, loaders and whatnot. Don't use 19 much. The only "truck stop" Philadelphia had closed years ago because of lot lizards and drugs. There's a shop I use in Delaware but I wasn't near there when I needed a new coax one day. Don't carry around a copy of the yellow pages so it would have been nice to have a POI on my GPS.

@Soberbyker

Any two-way dealer will have all the necessary tools and parts to do repairs but repairing a CB isn't worth the cost. They are also a good bet for the antenna parts as well. It's the same as an 11 meter ham rig, even though they really don't like admitting it.

Most shops will turn you down on repairs as they lack the service manuals with the settings.

My Nuvi could not find it.

I checked the factory loaded POI's in my GPS in those type of files... and found nothing.

Perhaps some custom POI's available here at PoiFactory might happen to include it in some kind of a larger travel and lodging POI.

There are 4 campgrounds that are in Harrison Hot Springs. Not sure which one you were asking about:

Sasquatch Park
No address listed
-121.704 49.356 (these coordinates were taken from the directory) I could not pinpoint this campground using google earth.

The information on the parks was obtained from Trailer Life Directory and I used Google earth to obtain the coordinates for the first 3. Hope this helps.

CB-related, but somewhat off topic from the original post...

soberbyker wrote:

Couldn't find any POIs for CB shops

This thread encouraged me to ask about the value of CBs today for the the ordinary 4-wheeler traveler. Having just finished a 1,600 mile and 2,400 mile roadtrips (Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive on the second trip), I was able to stop into several large truckstops where CBs were widely available. Seeing the retro Cobra 29s reminded me of my days during the 70s when I had both Cobras and Midlands.

I almost bought a 29 out of nostalgia while on the road, but stopped for the same reason I'm asking here: is there a value in having one anymore for the non-professional driver? If I got on, would anyone even "come back"? And what would be the usual channel(s) where useful chatter could be found?

Just curious, since I could use the money for a new GPSr if I didn't get a radio just to re-live the good old days.

Farms Providing Vacation Lodging POI

A farm stay is where working farms and ranches provide lodging to urban travelers looking for a country experience. There is a list of them at

http://www.farmstayus.com

but I was not able to easily tease out the address information to create a POI. I would appreciate any effort to take up the challenge of creating a Farms Providing Vacation Lodging POI (or Farm Stay POI)

Citiy as Speed Camera

I read, there's a number of small cities located on big highways, that collect significant chunk of their revenue (say, 75% like Randolph, MO) solely from the traffic tickets. http://www.insurance.com/auto-insurance/explained/auto-speed... ; one could say, such a city is one big speed camera. Maybe it would be good idea to present these parasites as POI's.

Another possibility

Building on your idea--it probably wouldn't hurt to have a general 2-way radio shop listing (not just for CB equipment, but also commercial UHF equipment and the like).

Also, as others have mentioned, there are similarities between CB radio equipment and 10m amateur radio equipment to the point quite a lot of amateur radio shops can sell basic equipment (like coax and antennas)--there are even a few shops that deal in both 10m radios and CB equipment that can do repair on the more common CB radio brands.

(That said--the amateur radio shops POI hasn't been updated in a while and could probably stand adoption, to be honest.)

Real hard

There isn't any single place where there are addresses, just general locations. It would take forever logging to each individual website just to get their address. Then maintaining the file would be next to impossible.
