GTM 12 TRAFFIC RECEIVER

First Good Day to all - Hope someone can help me here - I recently purchased a GTM12 FM Traffic receiver for my NUVI 350 - when plugged in I do show a traffic icon on my main screen - traveling thru Houston I did receive an alert sounding that traffic was ahead with congestion and recommended a better route - last weekend I was traveling thru Memphis and never did get an alert sound or icon indicating congested traffic - do I have a problem with my receiver? thanks for your help

It really depends more on who is updating the information and how fast it gets sent out. Your receiver is probably fine.

I reckon then that the local station is the source that provides the current traffic conditions - is that correct

Traffic service sucks
Just like me, you wasted $125 on that traffic receiver.
The traffic information you receive is based on Clear Channels FM Traffic service. If they don't do a good job on reporting the traffic in that area, you don't get good information.
It could also mean Memphis doesn't have the service.
I'm leaning more towards the traffic service sucking.
