POIs Save to Garmin or to SD card?

Hi People,
I am new to this so please bare with me. I have a question reguarding saving my POIs to my Garmin Nuvi 660 or to the SD card I have installed. My POI data base is about 10 meg. I was wondering if there is any advantage to saving it directly to the unit or to the SD card?

Thanks

Making Subdirectories is another advantage.

If you have a fair amount of POIs that you're going to load, I recommend that you consider making subdirectories on your computer and on your SD Card.

Consider that you will have some POI Categories that you want to show at or near the top of the list. You might want POIs for specific travel trips, that include waypoints that you want to use, to force the GPS to follow a specific route. You will also have hotels, Gas Stations and favourite Restaurants, that you want near the top. If you're in sales or are a trucker, you will want customers near the top.

You will have POIs like Rest Areas and Red Light Cameras. You'll want these down at the bottom. These are POIs that are strictly set up to create a Proximity Alert and it is very unlikely that you will do a search for any of these.

Setting up the initial set of Subdirectories is a bit tricky, but I suggest that you look up a FAQ called "Subdirectories: Creating and Using".

It will walk you through the process.
