Ok I have had my Garmin 550C for awhile but really dont get alot of time to play w/it .My question is being my garmin came w/preload maps how do I upgrade is it a download from Garmin or Dvd .And if it is a download if it get screwed up do I have to pay for it again hows does this all work..

Contacted Garmin via eamil on Monday regarding 2008 map update. Received reply from Cody on Wed who asked for a copy of my receipt. Emailed it and Cody said the update will be sent free of charge by the end of July.

I saw on the news last night, there are increasing thefts of GPSr from cars in the Baltimore City area.

The thieves are even looking for the mounts and rings left on the windshield.

I just joined the forum - anyone thought about how POI could be applied in Real estate . My wife and I are considering a move to kentucky from California. Wouldn't it be slick if I could load a list of houses for sale in an area? I could do drive bys views of all the houses for sale.

I got a really funny file that came through yesterday and I sat there staring at it for a few minutes trying to decide what to do with it. Jon and I talked about it and he suggested that we make a special file that the location could fit into.

So, you are admiting you are having a birthday? What a refreshing change for a person (male or female) to admit it's their birthday!

I bought my 350 a few weeks ago, thinking this is a great 'toy' for me (yeah, I'm a tech junky). It was recently fried in an electrical storm and I cannot believe how much I miss having it in my car!

I have 3 meetings at client's houses tomorrow and I'm searching the 'map' right now. I feel so... ancient?? Or something.

just to know that i can improve the service i get from my tom tom one , its cool. now my problem is i cant seem to save the items i just downloaded from this site. i wish someone would help me with tips on how to save them up on to my tom tom......then i would be ready to ride....

I purchased a Nuvi 670 end of June 2007.

E-Mailed Garmin 6 days ago about upgrade, to date no reply.

Phoned Garmin Europe (I live in the UK) and was told under no circumstances are Garmin giving free upgrades. I would have to pay and the cost would be approx £50 with a two week wait.

This is what most kids scream from the back seat. What do POI Factory children say if they want to know if we are there. "I wonder when we will arrive at our final destination" popped out of our six year old daughters mouth the other day. I have to say it gave me quite a giggle. Never thought that my little Garmin would be changing the language of my children.

Hey, I haven't checked the poi files for this but, we can have POIs for hunting for treasure. If you go to www.travelchannel.com and then look for the show: "Best Places to find Cash and Treasures" and then click on treasure hunt toolkits. You will find the long. and lat. that you can put in your GPS.

I own a Nuvi 350 and for the first time, I really put my GPS to use. I flew to Buffalo airport and was planning to drive up north towards Niagara Falls and Toronto in Canada.

How do I find Dorbrook park directions in colts neck New Jersey i dont know how to put the address in everytime i do it my gps cant find the address
