My Nuvi 1350 failed due to the USB power port. My daughter gave me her Nuvi 1450. I have used POI-Factory files over the years successfully.

I managed to transfer the redlight-camera.csv file from my computer to the Nuvi1450 unit. I noticed that the Garmin POI-Loader changed the file on my computer from csv ending to following Redlight-camers.csv.gpi

On the most recent release of the Garmin HERE maps (2025.20), I noticed that there is the option for Environmental Zones (Always Ask, Avoid, Allow) in Navigation. It wasn’t there for the 2025.10 maps, so they must have added it again. Although, I can’t seem to find a single example of an Environmental Zones in the U.S. does anyone have any ideas? There isn’t much info about them online.

Can anyone else confirm if any of their units that aren’t supposed to have the full North America map set are having the full NA maps installed when installing the 2025.20 Maps? So far, I have full NA on my Nuvi 55LM (only supposed to be lower 49 states) and my Drive 52 M (only supposed to be US and Canada).

Took my garmin out of moth balls and found a new garmin update.
7.21.0.0 to 7.23.0.0.
Thats when I noticed a new map update. Such wonders all in a day.
Garmin update done. Now Ill try the map.

New Map update and Express won't run. I've ran it before to do updates but today a no go. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Ive gone into the registry and deleted all references and reinstalled it. Still no Garmin Express user interface. Task manager has it running.

Update: Never found a solution. Had an image of Windows 11 from Jan.
Reloaded that and all is working now.

The fastest update yet,less than 20 min. Garmin Express ver 7.18.4, map NA 2025,20 DS65 updated on a Windows 7 desktop.
Have not yet taken it out for a spin to see what's new, probably little but I hope it fixed the random "wackie" speed limits that the previous map all of a sudden generated. School zones miles from a school, random 60/30 kph for no reason.

Driving home from shopping at city 45 miles away….
HOME was destination..,
First the roads disappeared.
Then the car graphic drifted away from the road.

Then it rebooted twice.
Then it knew we were going home, but road was straight. Car was not on road route.
??

When we got home, look closely at Garmin.

I'm not sure as to when this change may have occurred but I happened to notice Garmin content that my nuvi 2689 LMT has to have a microSD card that is 16 GB minimum. Specifically Garmin's site reads "A microSD card with at least 16 GB of space must be used when updating the maps on a device."

I have noticed that Garmin Smart Link IOS app crashes when loading Live traffic map. It works fine with List View. This app was last updated 4 years ago by Garmin. I am not sure if they will still be interested to fix it?

Recently created a driving holiday plan using Garmin PC Basecamp and Route Planner. All went well but the time planned at each waypoint in Basecamp was not transferred to my Garmin Drivesmart 66.

Routes planned using Trip Planner on my older 2555LMT always worked fine. Figured on a newer device my experience would have been better.

POILoader completed the install of .csv and .bmp for the chicken restaurant POI file I downloaded. I am certain. I can see the .bmp of the restaurant on my gps map. I also had a .wav file in the My POIs folder which matched the name of the .csv file. I have no reason to believe it was not downloaded. Sox.exe was in the same folder as POILoader.exe.

Recently (few months?) my DS 65 is throwing all kinds of new speed and school zone alarms. One area a couple of blocks away will bring in a school zone alarm (miles from a school). Also getting frequent reduced speed zones.. down to 30 km in a normal 60 zone.. 60 in a 80 zone. New speed stays for a bit and then reverts to what it should be.

On the Garmin Drive 51 within map view, is there a way to hide or not to show all your saved wavepoint pins. I look under settings - map layers and I there is no map layer that is for saved wavepoints which I can disabled.

I just connected my Zumo XT and got a notification of a map update. Hooray I hear everyone cry. When I look I see "Update: IOverlander Worldwide POIs 2025.40" and "Install : City Navigator US & Canada 2025.10"

I check in Basecamp and it shows I have "City Navigator North America NT 2025.1

The Garmin Drive app works reasonably well with/on my DS65 But.. could use a new feature that I'm sure is: a) possible and b) desirable. Where would one suggest it?

Seems keeping track of where trains are by showing a train icon would help driver avoid, if possible, having to wait for a train. Something the Google map/traffic page could consider as well.

Just got an update for Garmin Express for Mac version 7.23.0.0.
Installed with no problems. Looks like 7.23.0.0 for Windows too.

My Garmin 52 keeps telling me "A Slippery Road has been reported". The location is on the Cross County Parkway West in Yonkers between the exit for the Hutch (HRP) and the exit for the Bronx River Parkway. It is not raining, the weather is clear. I do not see any extra traffic or construction that would trigger the warning. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Thanks for any input.

Hi everyone. I bought a DriveSmart 65 at the start of the year. I successfully downloaded 3 POI files to it last week. I am driving around with the expectation of a ping when I drive by a certain chicken establishment. Not pinging. Volume is up. What am I doing wrong?

I just chatted with Garmin because my photolive icon greyed out and the app is now missing from the apps area. They told me they're discontinuing the app. I've only had the drivesmart 55 a month. I thought photolive was such a cool feature. Pretty sad Garmin are disconting such a great feature.
