In San Francisco Bay area, we have the HD weather on 3597 with GTM60.

In the south bay near my home, I get the weather information sporadically, mostly not.

Returning from a recent trip to San Francisco, I was pleasantly surprised that the weather information was present all the way back home. I did not have weather information at all on my way out though.

Does anyone know the regulations regarding placement of a GPS. Years ago, in NY I heard or read that it was illegal to have the device suction cupped on the windshield. I ordered a ProClip device which brought it down to below dashboard level, which was much better for me anyway.

Love the Junction View. Problem I have is that it comes on 1/2 mile before the junction and only lasts a few seconds. Is there any way to make it last longer.

Using basecamp 4.2.4 sending waypoints to Nuvi 1350T GPS, it always create a category of the waypoints in the GPS.

Is there a way to send way points to the GPS without creating category ?

This seems weird but on my garmin if I choose Karen she says the name of my street (penn) which is correct, but if I choose Jack he says Pennsylvania. Has this happened to anyone else?

To me Jack is the easiest to understand, but if he says the wrong street name when I know what it is, I'm afraid of what might happen when I don't know.

Has anyone figured out how to view the system files? That is maps, junction files, etc. on the later Nuvis? Hidden files and folders are not hidden in my Windows 7. I used to be able to see .system on my 1490.

How to setup the pass speed limit sound alert on Garmin Nuvi 50LM ? It is so easy to do this in Tomtom. But I couldn't find the option for Garmin? Thanks a lot!

Is there a simple way to backup contents of my Nuvi 1490LMT including what's on microSD card ? I am currently running 2013.4 maps with large JCV files. I'd like to backup to my hard drive / DVD before downloading latest mapset.

I've plugged my Nuvi into my oomputer to view installed files. Do I download everything or just contents of "Garmin" folder ?

I was going to purchase a Garmin nuvi 2455LMT but I'm reading reviews that say this unit can't find a destination by zip code.

Can anyone tell me if that just the early models before a firmware update, or is that still true now?

Also, does it still show ads with traffic or was that removed with a firmware update?

I have installed many POI's onto my garmin using the POI loader. I know there have been updates to this files since loading, but I have never updated any of them. What is the best way?

Okay just wanting to let off a little steam, Several years ago I purchased my Nuvi 5000 and took me a while to realize it did not have a battery so unable to take unit to my computer unless I have a power supply. What could have been on the engineers mind that come up with this idea? Has anyone come up with a way to add battery? Sorry for taking up time with this apparently unsolveable problem.

I had a garmin 2595 and I had to send for repairs. I found out that some of the units have an internal traffic chip and others have traffic chip on the power supply.
