How to make custom vehicle icons

has anyone here successfully created their own vehicle icons? as far as i know the only utility available for creating them sits on this page:
while the three custom icons available on the site work as advertised, the icons it generates for me unfortunately suffer from a persistent masking problem.
i emailed the site owner a week ago but no one seems to be home, and the page doesn't appear to have been updated in a year ...

Yep, you can do that... Because the builder looks for 36 images, you'll have to make 35 copies of the original though. I was trying to automate the process of piecing everything together and that's why it needs to see all 36 images.

Mike, I downloaded your GarminSRFBldr.exe from your web page, but the program is giving me an error when I launch it:
"Run-time error '53':
File not found: Checker.gif"
Any ideas as to what is wrong? Thanks.

Never mind. I found the installer .zip file down the list and everything works now

I use my Garmins for marine use a lot on my fishing boats, and would like to see more boat option. I especially would like to see Lund fishing boats, as well as others. They would be very popular.
Any chance on someone tackling a Lund Pro V 21 foot fishing model?

I just got my Garmin Nuvi yesterday for a b day present.
I love to customize stuff like this so I have made a vehicle out of my own truck!.
Very cool I must say.
How do I show it off in here?
Also, how can I view it myself in a 3D way?

I'm going to have to use a few hours of a weekend trying someting like that. I was thinking about using something like pictures of my kids. I hope I can get them to sit long enough. Maybe if I can build a large enough "turn table".

Learning curve too high
I downloaded SketchUp, but the new version doesn't work. Once I found the older version 8.0 I was able to follow the setup, but the learning curve is too high. I was hoping there was a way to take an icon and turn it into a *.srf. I was hoping to have a fish and a fishing boat for vehicles when I go fishing.
Any "simple" ways to convert to a Garmin vehicle?

Yup, I looked into taking an already-made Garmin vehicle and just change its color...I stuck with the already-made grey.
