Speed vs Arrival time

When I upgrade my Nüvi 250W from 2.80 to 2.90 the info in the bottom-left corner of the map screen change. It now show speed, before it was showing time of arrival. The Documentation ( yeah, the 5 pages manual ) reffers to it as Speed or Time of Arrival.

Can and how can I change from one to the other ??

TOA When you are navigating

It will give the Speed when you are just viewing map...But when you are Navigating to a specific Location it will give Arrival time..

What Zecpull says is true,

What Zecpull says is true, you must just not have noticed it before (like you said)

That is one of the things, I wish was switchable

That is one of the things I wish Garmin would have allowed in their software for us to change at our choosing that and compass, Or put it in a split screen. Oh well, something to upgrade to later LOL.

Distance or Time?

Personally, I prefer "distance to destination" rather than estimated time of arrival to be displayed at the lower left hand corner of the map. I like it better because TOA is so variable because of traffic, speed limit.... etc. Perhaps, Garmin can let customers toggle their preference in their next upgrade.

time to arrival

If you watch that close - it will adjust based on how fast you're going...it will vary, and I've found it to be very accurate.

Seems to adjust based on estimated time from location

Seems to adjust based on estimated time from location, so if you are delayed, the ETA will change, but with the assumption that the rest of the trip will be on schedule. Therefore, if you are in traffic, it will keep on adding time to the arrival, but if traffic continues, it will be wrong until the very end. However, this is very understandable, as it doesn't know what is ahead, only what is past and present.
