I Wish Garmin Made An Android Tablet Or Android Maps App

My wife and I have been riding our UTV the past two days near Hill City MN. We have been using my Samsung tablet with the Ride Command app on it for navigation. She prefers that over Garmin on ATV/UTV rides.

I prefer my Garmin Zumo XT for ATV/UTVing and e-bikes rides. On of the nice things about the Garmin Zumo XT is it powered up, locates signals from satellites and it ready to navigate. The Polaris Ride Command add needs internet to get started and my wife needs to login to get it going.

I know Garmin made some phones in the past and had maps that could be used on Android smartphones and tablets. Those days seem to be behind us now.

Does anybody know what Android mapping app is available today that is most similar to the Garmin City Navigator? It should have the ability to work off-line and be loaded onto the device.

Right now I am leaning towards HERE and/or Open Street Maps.

Navigator

I have Mapfactor Navigator installed on my Android phone and tablet. It works offline and has OS maps. Plus the cameras are also included. You can install the maps to your SD card . See
https://navigatorfree.mapfactor.com/en/ for info . See https://navigatorfree.mapfactor.com/en/features/ for all the features . For helpful tips see https://www.mapfactor.com/en/support/did-you-know/

I Wish Garmin Made An Android Tablet Or Android Maps App

Thank you for the reply. I am downloading those now.

I did see that Garmin makes/made a 10 inch GPS, They are the Garmin OTR 1000 and ORT1010. Even though they aren't Android tablets, maybe my wife would like the 10 inch GPS. I am still trying to compare the differences. It looks like the OTR1000 does not have a micro SD slot to add maps. If that is accurate, I would opt for the Garmin OTR1010 for sure. They are expensive, but I would probably buy a refurbished unit.

SD Card

Under MAPS & MEMORY it shows both have SD capability .Another consideration, Internal storage shows 1000 with 16GB and 1010 with 32GB.

I use TomTom

on my Android devices. I have been using it for several years and like it. The maps are stored on your device. There is an annual subscription fee to use.
