Good Afternoon!

I set up a new workstation and hadn't checked in for quite a while. Was having trouble cutting the last Windows cord but have finally done it now and it feels great to be free.

My only concern is whether I will have any issues generating POI update files either running the Garmin software under WINE or running an alternative program but WINE runs most Windows programs, including QuickBooks so I have high hopes. News at 11.

In my Linus endeavors, I found that Wine would, at best, only run Windows programs that were, let's say, a little outdated. I found that running a Virtual Windows machine with Win 7 was a better way to run stuff like Garmin Basecamp, POI Loader, and GE.

Wine does better with more commonly used programs like Microsoft Office, Word, and popular stuff like that. More obscure programs suffered with Wine applications that were really out of date.

Virtual Box.org is a very good Virtual machine program. It's FREE! You can even run a Mac machine for use with Basecamp, etc. All that's needed is to get a copy or Windows or Mac to install.

Honey Do Project

Just made my wife two sets of wooden brackets for her stitching frames.
took about an hour and used scrape wood left over from another project,
To buy two sets are $35.00 a set plus tax and shipping. WOW should go into business, LOL
